Aluminum arms for dji flamewheel frames

My hybrid is the F450 upgraded with the Aerial Media Pro's heavy lift kit. The arm extensions make the stock arms about the same length as the new aluminum arms. It flies like a beast with 770kv 2814 motors and 11x5 props. I've been so pleased with the performance that I want to build an F550...

Aluminum arms for dji flamewheel frames

I was previously aware that those arms existed and I want them for my F550 build. Will you continue to make them into the future? I'm not in a hurry to preorder. I had hoped that I could buy four in anodized black and two in anodized white. The extra length means that I won't have to buy...

Group Build 2014, DJI NAZA/F450 Quadcopter!

I'm in. I built my F450 hybrid thanks to the help I got at the forum. Next winter I want to build an F550 hybrid but better using the soldering and wiring skills I acquired. I suggest that the group build encompass both the F450 and F550. The only important difference being that one has two...

Has anyone mounted three 2200mha three cell batteries on a DJI 450?

I agree. A single 4S on the F450 is boss. But my F450 is a hybrid, using bigger motors and props. It flies for 14 minutes unburdened, carrying no camera or fpv gear. My batteries now are 4000 MaH but i'm going to get 5500 MaH. Glaciers. Same as Gen Ace. At some point the law of...

ASSISTANT SOFTWARE... DO I REALLY NEED to go there?

You have to have the Assistant software up and running, your craft connected to a pc with the usb cable, and the transmitter turned on. If you don't check out your craft's functionality with Assistant, your phantom could veer off and take out the eyes of a child. You can't be lazy. The...

    F450 Oscillations with heavy load

There's a possible alternative explanation. The Pendulum Effect. (google it) It happens when the weight carried is too low below the craft. I saw the phenomenon clearly when I dangled a fishing weight underneath my Blade mQX. The mQX began oscillating rhythmically side to side as the weight...

    And another.

I'm really not qualified to recommend anything. All I can do is retell my story. Last February I began researching what ought to be my own first mr. Last winter the forums were full of stories about Dji component failures. The videos of building the Dji 450 and 550 kits led me towards the...

    And another.

Please check that craft out at rcgroups.com. There's a thread devoted to it and there's a separate failure thread. The 350qx is having propellor failures in some instances.

Hello from Sacramento, Calif new rotorhead Dave

Welcome, dietrichdr, I live a couple hours drive away. Lots for you to learn. Me too. My 450 took six months to build and crashed three times during its test pilot testings. Now it's finished. I already have the GoPro camera and am researching gimbals to find out what to use. Chomp at...

    Can't arm motors sort of

If you live near a Dji dealer, the shop can test your FC. Century Heli in San Jose put my gps unit on their bench and their test proved the unit was bad.

Small drone crashes in NY city

Have a mask covering your face when you turn the camera on. Be sure that no one can trace the craft back to you. Fly the craft low over the local juvenile prison with a carton of cigarettes dangling from it. Fly it back and forth while the guards are marching inmates around. Continue until...

Small drone crashes in NY city

I don't think such people are idiots. Uninformed, yes but not idiots. So many people live in crowded urban settings like that apartment in New York and Dji has allowed the masses to have the Phantom with its promises. My goodness what other outlet for his creativity does that guy living in a...

Small drone crashes in NY city

Such incidents can only increase in number. Months ago a quad crashed near an employee of a tv station. He also recovered the sd card and the station was able to find the flier and interview him. So ... Edit out the GoPro image of yourself turning the camera on BEFORE taking off. A...

    Can't arm motors sort of

The double yellow flashes mean that the imu is initializing. It can take a while. "Warming Up" is misleading terminology and makes me think back to when televisions with vacuum tubes had to warm up before they could work. So long as there are yellow flashes, the motors cannot arm. I think...

Where Do I get a DJI Replacement GPS post

You can buy the copper foil here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/dimarzio-copper-shielding-tape You only need a little bit. One unit that they sell. It's sticky sided and you can fold a section back on itself. The sticky substance is conductive. I drew an outline of my gps module...

Having trouble setting NAZA failsafe (RTH) and DX7

The RTH command in Naza isn't the same as the failsafe mode you want to have if the transmitter stops working. The real failsafe in case of TX failure needs to be setup with your transmitter during the binding session. Some receivers can't do that.

Where Do I get a DJI Replacement GPS post

The gps module can be mounted directly to an arm. With the Z value in Naza assistant set to 0. Lots of fliers do it. Put a copper foil rfi shield underneath the puck and ground the shield. You don't have to have the module carried up high on that flimsy looking stalk. That seems to be a Dji...

    NAZA Failsafe question... anyone know?

Wow. Yours is a good question. I wouldn't try testing it to find out. Not sure if you'll get a reply from anyone knowing 100% sure. So far as I know, manual disables gps. Seems that only the most skilled, experienced fliers would ever try to fly in manual mode out that far away. You must...
