    KDE ESC firmware update

I should be able to get to it soon. I'll report back once I do.

    This could go horribly wrong.....

I always have mine in a "V" pointing to the sky. Just worked out that way to avoid being close to CF or other interference. But I think you can mount them any which way that makes sense - as long as you keep them clear of interference. I've seen a lot done with one up and the other out to the...

    Hello fellow Pilots

Welcome to MRF! Looks like you found the right place. Plenty of people always willing to lend a hand around here. Plenty of knowledge stored away in the searches too. What was the issue with the Phantom? Was it the new Phantom 3???

    New to multi rotor

Welcome to MRF Bill. Sounds like you chose a fairly new flight controller, so there is not as much info yet - but it is beginning to trickle in. @SleepyC started a thread specifically for the Tarot FC, and you may be able to find some help there. Many people here are very knowledgable and...

    KDE ESC firmware update

Anyone update the ESCs yet? I grabbed the small interface, but then moved back to Brooklyn, so I haven't had a chance to update my ESCs yet. Any luck? Thoughts? Improvements? I'm curious about the regenerative braking. Thanks

The 2 antenna at 90 degrees. That gets you the best reception.

    Taranis Plus + Iris + = ????

Hopefully it's not some type of proprietary data stream. This might be a question fkr the github crowd that writes the opentx code.

    3DR, What's up?

Have they even delivered the gimbal fkr the solo yet?

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

I'm not sure about the binding issues. I have bound several X8R with my original Taranis. But I assume they are all non-European models since I bought them from USA suppliers. The X8R is a great receiver and offers some great features - especially at the price.

Make channel 5 mode switch sbus taranis naza V2

I think it may be difficult (if not impossible) on that receiver. As best I can tell, the conventional outputs (1-3)are redundant with sbus carrying full 16 channels (1-3 again). So unless there is a way to split out the sbus signal to individual outputs, you may need to get an x8r so that you...

What telemetry info you looking for?

Cable ties are the way to go. Less contact will help with heat. If they're inboard the center plates - you won't barely see them.

    Why coax?

I would love that! But this little "backseat" is not really a backseat at all (I've never seen someone stuff a human in here anyway). Foldability is key. And if I need to update the center plates anyway - might as well go for it and bump up to the X8 config.

    Why coax?

Great thread! I'm looking at a folding X8 as well, partially because of redundancy other advantages mentioned in this thread, but primarily due to space constraints. My hex has been great - but I had to haul it in the bed of my truck (with a fairly elaborate "suspension system" for peace of...

One prop, two chunks of GPS mast so far!

I don't think you've misrepresented it - you've actually been quite clear. And I'm also not unfamiliar with the love of tinkering and being challenged by the technology. But I would differ, to use your analogy, that the hatchback might be most sensible with a very expensive camera/gimbal on it...

One prop, two chunks of GPS mast so far!

While I understand your reasoning, and appreciate your willingness to experiment and possibly lose craft and large investment - I'm not sure that I have a lack of perspective here. Thus far in my Multirotor "career" I have flown Multiwii, superx and Naza, and a few propriatary FCs. None of those...

Agreed. And it's super helpful for 50% throttle to have a handle on typical hover setting with most FCs in atti or GPS mode.

I thought pumpkin was talking about a beep to give indication for 50% throttle, like the taranis. This led to confusion about why/how a dead and would effect this at all. :)
