FrSky / Taranis Trainer "Buddy Box"

That sounds like a really cool program @crayfellow. Nice way to give back to the community and get some new enthusiasts involved! I have not used the Taranis for the traditional buddybox setup - but I've connected it with a simulator on the computer through the port on the back. There is a...

    Hello, Holla, Bonjour...

Always helps to have a little help :). Even if it's just for clarification or reinforcement to what you already suspect to be the proper direction for the build.

    One transmitter and multiple copters

You can certainly bind a single radio (transmitter) with multiple receivers. Makes life a whole heck of a lot easier.

    Monitor instead of goggles?

Good luck! It's a trip for sure.

    Dual Rates and Expo

I adjust the expo for smoother physical movement based on my stick moves. It chills out the MR response (especially yaw) so that filming can be more mellow. I think dual rates are mostly used for planes to have multiple setups (extreme aileron response, mellow aileron response etc). That way...

    Monitor instead of goggles?

I don't race - but I will say that the monitor was an easier transition from LOS for me. The goggles can be disorienting , at least in the beginning. If you have any hope of keeping an eye on kids - then the monitor is the only way to go. :)

FREEFLY Systems Freefly ALTA, RTF collapsible hexacopter

Wait, that's YOU in the video? I was convinced you had a Multirotor hat on at all times! :) The craft certainly seems impressive. And you're right - creepy quiet. Good luck with the testing.

Could I switch out the gimbal controller?

+1. No question there are probably cheap alternatives that run off alexmos controllers that will save time and money. But if you like to tinker - have at it! :)

    3DR, What's up?

Actually, THIS forum has been fairly devoid of trolls :) But you're right - there are always all kinds on these forums. And it can make it tough sometimes to gather what seems like simple answers sometimes. @cootertwo - I do find it a bit strange that the web site is not updated. Seems that...

Could I switch out the gimbal controller?

You probably could if you have access to where the imu is placed, and the size of the controller fits the mount.

A BIG HI TO ONE AND ALL

Welcome aboard Ozzy. Seems like you have been bitten hard by the Multirotor/RC bug :). You have come to the right place for like minded folks who share in your enthusiasm. I'm not experienced with the long-range FOV, but I'm sure you'll find some advice over in that section. In terms of...

Hexacrafter X8 - Finished and Ready for Service!

Well, 90+ inches of 4k ought to do it :)

What did you do with your DJI Inspire 1 today?

I agree with dazzub. Doesn't sound right. I don't own an inspire - but I've been editing several video sessions shot with the inspire. There are some shots that are really quite amazing with how it holds and transitions. The only thing I noticed is that the gimbal yaw speed really needs to be...

Hexacrafter X8 - Finished and Ready for Service!

Ah. That's different I guess. Do you have clients that are actually viewing the 4k on 4k monitors/TVs? Glad you got the shots safely. Land those whales!

Hexacrafter X8 - Finished and Ready for Service!

Are you uploading 4k for a client? If it's for us boneheads around here, you know transcoding to 1080 won't make the horizon look like its drifting, right? ;)
