One prop, two chunks of GPS mast so far!

I'm not sure weight was the way to do it. Typically you would just move the end points and the offset until it was correct. Not usre there is any downside to the weight being changed - someone else will have to weigh in on that. If the motors are spinning when armed, that should be adjustable...

You had to move it up to get it to engage the arming? Typically its the other way around - requiring lowering the trim to get it low enough to kick in. You said that the throttle shows the correct reading in mission planner? And the taranis stock cal has been done?

When you say few clicks of throttle, you mean with the sub-trim?

Agreed, I did not think the KDE would be the issue. I have used them successfully with the Taranis for a while (but never Pixhawk). And i have used the Taranis with Pixhawk (but never KDE) so it seems the specific combo you have is the issue.

Wow. Glad you didn't get more seriously injured while reaching in with spinning props! Definitely a good call to hang weight. Especially considering the design was based on having the gimbal down there. I would imagine if the power system is designed to lift (x) grams at 50% throttle, lifting...

I have a puck holder that fully encompasses the puck - so I just cut it to fit in the bottom of the holder. If you have the standard style mast - I guess just put it on the bottom of the puck itself.

I have my puck shielded with copper tape on the bottom of the 3D pick holder I have. Not sure if that's what gives me the luck with satellites - but I can't hurt :)

I've always found myself compensating for a bit of altitude loss in FFF in atti as well. I think most FCs exhibit a bit of this.

    Anyone going to Flite Fest?

That's a sick bike and well sought after at this point. If you had it done up nice (sounds like it was!) it would fetch you 2 Movi's right now :) I'm planning on heading home on Sunday. Might be cool to swing by and catch a glimpse of the folks flying. Hit 2 passions in one weekend!

    Anyone going to Flite Fest?

Man, I should try to hit this on my way home from Mid-Ohio vintage Motorcycle Show. Seems like it's on the way home. Heading out to Ohio tonight.

    Taranis Plus + Iris + = ????

Not sure about the stock radio, but you'd think that'd be a very 3DR thing to sneak in there. Then again it's so helpful, makes me wonder why they wouldn't have done it from the factory if it was capable. For me the key is WHAT I'm hearing. This is another place the pixhawk would lend itself...

    Taranis Plus + Iris + = ????

I have the voice tell me when my voltage gets to a certain point, when I have burned through a certain amount of my total mAh, when I have been in the air a certain amount of time (programmed and changed for different batteries with a switch), as well as a few other things. The telemetry is one...

    Tips for camera bag contents

We all have our field kits ready, mostly centered around the MRs, gimbals and batteries etc. B&H just shot out a little list of things to keep in a camera bag. Some good tips and a few things I hadn't thought about...

    CF prop options

I think for the cost savings you'd expect a little less spit and polish. But I'm ok with that as long as they balance. I got some cheaper CF props from AddictiveRC at one point. Took a bit more to balance them - but for the saving, I expected that.

@Hexacrafter have you used the Maytech already? Or just giving them a try?

    Need some less expensive motors

I agree with the sunny sky motors. Good motor for the money in the 3 versions I've had. Buddyrc carries them as well here in the states.
