Phantom 3 pro = call to reason

I have an S800 with a Zenmuse and a F550 and F450 with DJI vid DL and H3D Zenmuse as well as a few other aircraft that shoot video as well. I bought this because I set one up for a client and could not believe how well it worked and the fantastic quality of the cam. Here is a video from my...

Phantom 3 pro = call to reason

I have S800 with the Zenmuse, 3 years old. A F550 with a Alex... GoPro cam with a vid DL. And a F450 with the latest Zenmuse mini and GoPro. I shoot a lot as I have a video production company. And I fly RC for fun. Anyway I have helped a lot of people fix their drones and I work with a local...

Wookong-M Assistant Software for Mac Released!! v2.04

Great news, now all we need is IOSD and Z15 for Mac and I will be real happy. Bootcamp and Fusion is a pain and real PC really are a pain, IMHO.

    s800 spinning fairly fast

Just a note. I would mount the LED facing back either on a leg or on the frame so it can easily be seen when flying, instead of on top of the frame. It really helps with orientation and the LED tells you if there is a problem in flight (flashing white means stop for a while and if it does not...

DJI released the Zenmuse Z15-5D 3-axis gimbal!

In a way using the 5D on the Zen is a smart move. For the same reason the 5D was such a hit with everyone. It is a fantastic still camera. And a lot of Aerial work is still photos, don't forget that. So this means that we now have a very good quality lens on an excellent huge megapixel camera...

    Is my GPS ruined?

If it was me I would trash the prop, not worth the risk. I would also trash the GPS antenna. Or possible put it on a cheaper test platform than the S800 if you can. But an antenna, arm and prop are cheap compared to a catastrophic in flight failure. But then I am the very cautious type. I...

Battery Choice for S800 Evo with Zemuse

Pulse lipos are great! 2 5500's are perfect for Zen/S800 w/o retracts anyway. And the price is good.

S800 Spins when above 100ft, but fine when below 50 ft

I would suspect the TX/RX. Start by rebinding them. If possible try another TX. I have had problems similar to this using spectrum radios, never my Futabas. They seem to sometimes experience "brown out" that is partial loss of signal, this can also be due to a BEC problem. If you have a logger...

Some radio advice for my planned setup.

http://www.futaba-rc.com/systems/futk9410-14sg/ I have 2 of the 8FGs but if I bought another it would be the 14FGs, it does telemetry.

DJI New Spool up throttle response- Need Option to turn off

I was just making the point that this is a very young technology and things are bound to change. Like putting automatic transmissions in cars. I hate them but try to buy a SUV or pretty much any car in the USA w/o one, and if you do manage to find one they have no resale value. I agree that a...

DJI New Spool up throttle response- Need Option to turn off

I can get used to it, it is strange to start with but its OK with me once you understand it. You can still check each motor by using cyclic stick as I always do before takeoff. This is a fly by wire system so it is not like a mechanical system at all. If it makes for less mistakes initially...

Problem with Naza lite = CRASH !

In GPS or atti mode it should stop motors if tilted past 45º (I think it is about that). So I would say that maybe the Naza came loose, tilted, or it is a HW failure. In manual mode it would behave like that. Is it possible you went into manual instead of failsafe?

    WARNING: DJI Zenmuse H3-2D

The latest FW will put the miniZen into hibernation mode if no H3 is mounted thus saving the motors, it is on the DJI site in the release notes. So if you hook p to assistant it will prompt you to update.

Spektrum DX8 or Futaba T8J??? or Other???

IMHO the Futaba 8FGS is the way to go. I have spectrums as well, many problems with brownouts etc, never a problem with my 2 8FGs. I am switching all my new RC planes to Futaba as well. Just my experience. But many in my AMA club feel the same way.

Allowing complete novices to fly a QuadCopter...

X-Heli is an excellent trainer for multis and very affordable: http://www.heli-x.net It is also Mac and PC as well as Linux compatible. I find for MRs it is more realistic than RealFlight, and it is far cheaper.

naza v1 upgrade to 3.14 motors wont arm?

Do the sticks indicators move in assistant? You are trying to arm after a restart and disconnected from the PC, no USB cable installed, right?

naza v1 upgrade to 3.14 motors wont arm?

I just hit enter after entering a new value, it turns red at first, when you hit enter it turns back to black (or is it blue). My ESCs arm fine after the upgrade, first of all you have to recalibrate after FW update, it is in the instructions. Re enter all your settings or at least check them...

    s800 rotates on its axis

As in the above post check trim setting, many have both buttons on TX and internal "center point" adjustments. Make sure in assistant that the yaw axis is centered when in middle position after checking settings and making sure trim is set to 0 on TX. It is possible to have a problem with TX...

    s800 rotates on its axis

Sometimes it is very easy to put some yaw in when adjusting throttle inadvertently. I am not saying this is what is happening but you could try to put some expo on the rudder channel to make it less sensitive in the center, try 35% or so to start (on Futabas expo is negative look at the S-curve...

my dji naza but it does not left straight up it is going to flip to one side

Don't take off in GPS, use atti or manual. I often get some TB in the beginning of a flight, close to the ground, after flying for a while I find GPS holds much better, this is true on all 3 of my MRs with GPS. Just be ready to correct for wind drift as you take off and make test flights in a...
