DJI Released New Firmware 3.14 for Naza-M V1、V2 And Phantom!

I have had excellent service from DJI twice when I had problems. They replaced a Naza unit and a Iosd, both in a very timely fashion. Both these incidents the support came through my dealers. That is how DJI support works. You contact your dealer and he/she decides how to proceed. So if you...

    Simple question...

Just be sure to remove the props or at least tie the MR down when using assistant SW. Especially if you update the FW. But I do that all the time. Just in case... You can assign gain to a dial/slider on the TX and adjust in the air, this is very handy. Save this tune-up as a setting file. You...

Intelligent Mode or Immediately Mode for motors????

That is a good point. Every technology in its infancy goes through a design curve, to make them safe. Maybe a parachute and stop everything switch will be legislated like airbags soon. Or a small nuclear device to instantly vaporize the danger.:shame:

DJI Released New Firmware 3.14 for Naza-M V1、V2 And Phantom!

One and only. It is I. I have used drones now a bit more than a year. I got hired to work with a drone CO for a week and I was not happy with their quality but intrigued by the technology, and being an instrument pilot and having shot a lot of full scale heli vid, as well as flying RC planes. I...

    Naza 3.14 firmware out.

I just upgraded my F450 to 3.14, because I have the H3-2D gimbal coming on Monday and I wanted to check that 3.14 is OK. I also installed a new 6208 RX and enabled all the failsafe and tested that as well, with TX off it reverts to failsafe and returns home. Everything is working perfectly...

Intelligent Mode or Immediately Mode for motors????

Also in intelligent mode the motors will cut power if MR leans more than 70º in Atti. This is a great safety.

S800 does great in windy conditions!

I use 5.20 FW, I have never had a problem with motor surges. I fly with low gains and this smooths things out a lot. If the air is rough, I just allow for some vertical and horizontal motion, just like a full scale heli or plane. Smooth flying is the key and anticipation of air movements, stay...

S800 does great in windy conditions!

Here is a video from a demo day at a RC field in VT. I am a member of the club. I fly a lot of RC planes and copters and I have 3 DJI video MRs. And I have over 2000 hrs of full scale flying a lot of it instrument time. This one is a 6 month old S800 and Z15, with over 100 flights on it all...

newbie thinking of DJI - or is there a better co.?

Mike, I can recommend DJI products. The thing is there are thousands of units sold and only a few on these boards that are very upset. I talked to my dealer whom I would reccomend you call Patrick at AerialMediaPros.com. He says his customer who bought the S800/Zen are typically very happy...

    The DJI rant thread

The S800 Zen is fantastic. I was shooting in 25+kts gusts the other day no problems at all. Just kept everything at a safe distance. I even flew my little F450 in more like 30-40Kt wind unintentionally, a small twister came through our airport while I was demoing the MRs. It lifted debris and...

Beginner advice needed -- when transmitter loses power

The best thing to do is to watch a video of someone setting up your exact TX/RX with fail safe working correctly. It is complicated and involves a bit of programming of your TX. Basically you need to set up FS behavior that causes the MR to go to failsafe mode when signal is lost. And it is...

WKM mid-air reboot... All motors stop.

Spectrum TX/RX brownouts are strange and do often lead to loss of control. Most Spectrum RX's have a light that that blinks if there has a been a loss of signal. It is a good idea to check this after each landing. I know it is too late now. But check in the future. One strange way to get...

WKM mid-air reboot... All motors stop.

If you have the V2 Iosd then it should be possible to figure out what happened. V2 has a data logger built in. What shape was your Lipo/s in? Spectrum TX/RX radios sometimes have brown outs, for many different reasons including low voltage. It could be a bad connection or loose wire.

    S800 Motor temp

I am running complete DJI stock everything. I do have the new dampening rig. So my kit is: S800 original arms from late 2012 WKM w/GPS Zenmuse w/NEX5n Iosd V2 update for a V1 (by factory) DJI 5.8 Downlink. 2 Futaba RX one for Zen one for S800 Wibe reduction kit Fixed gear I use either 2 5500 or...

    S800 Motor temp

I use an IR thermometer to read the motor temps after landing. They usually are between 95 and 120 ℉, depending on outside temp and how hard I fly, it is a good way to make sure that you don't have a motor going bad and it also indicates if your CG is off.

6 Motor Failures. What is this noob doing wrong.

Just curious, you mention the ocean so is it possible some salt mist/spray/beach sand may have had contact with the MR? It is strange that you are having bearing failures. One thing I do after every flight is check the temp of each motor, usually about 95-105 F, I measure with an IR...

ZENMUSE GOPRO H3-2D Brushless Gimbal ARRIVED at Aerial Media Pros

That looks great. I have a Yun-1 I have been testing and it is pretty messy, wires everywhere and pretty big for a GoPro, it works but the SW and tuning is pretty primitive. It is a product that looks like an experiment. The DJI version looks like a Pro package. As soon as this kit arrives I...

    Dear John...I mean DJI...

Bear in mind there are far more Chinese than Americans/Europeans etc.. So maybe we should be the ones that have to be sensitive. This is all in good fun, no insult intended.
