Taranis Plus Naza M Arm Switch

Pat: Just saw your post looking for something else. Did you ever get it going with a switch? If not, the best I can come up with is to create 4 special functions, assigning them values of where the RUD, THR, ELE and AIL would be when Naza arms. For instance, THR would be -100, RUD +100, ELE...

Will the hexacopter be able to land safely with motor failure

Edgar: I threw the left front prop on a DJI F550 hexa X config and was able to get it to fly back to where I took off from, but ended up dumping it in a big bush prior to actually landing it. I didn't know at the time it was a front prop, I just wanted to get it back closer to me. The first...

Basic Setup Instructions for FrSky Taranis, X8R and Naza-M V2

SMP: Here's my mixer line for that: GIMBAL (+100%)S1 Switch(SA↑) (GIMBAL) Explanation: "GIMBAL"= channel 8(label/name in Taranis) on my X8R receiver "S1" = the left knob and is the "source" of the control "Switch(SA up)" = the S1 ONLY works when SA up is active So what you need to do is to...

    flamewheel 550 CG and Balance

Greg: >So I guess my x would equal 0, my y approx +8 (antanae to right of centre line on arm 5) and Z approx -12 (Gimbal fitted) and approx -6 (Gimbal not fitted) Nope. Draw a line from arm #3 to #6, across the center of the frame. Is the GPS in front of that line or behind it? The screws...

    flamewheel 550 CG and Balance

Greg: Move the GPS as necessary. Using the #2 arm will put you +X, -Y and a -Z for numbers. Concur with leaving the gimbal off until you get the hexa flying well. Once you're flying well, when you mount the gimbal in the frame center, it will just be a matter of changing the Z number. Ron...

    flamewheel 550 CG and Balance

Hi Greg: OK, so knowing what you know now, what do you think your numbers will be? Battery and Zenmuse centered both laterally and for/aft. Minor weight to the right side accounting for the GPS and that module labeled "zenmuse". GPS on the pole at the #5 arm mount area. Again with the...

    flamewheel 550 CG and Balance

eagle1703: Where is your GPS mounted on the frame? Are you using the little pole? Can you post an image? Here's an example: My GPS is mounted on the frame/arm screws on the right arm of the hexa frame on about half the little pole height, call it 8cm tall. I fly the F550 as an "X". The...

Naza M Lite - Yaw Problem to the right in all flight modes.

I said 3 props turning in one direction not the motors. Three props one way would create some serious yaw but it would fly. To clarify: 4 props, 2 CW, 2CCW If you put 3CW props on and 1 CCW, with all motors turning as they should, you will have serious yaw.

Naza M Lite - Yaw Problem to the right in all flight modes.

Raymond: If everything looks OK, no trims out of place, etc., any chance you have 3 props turning in one direction and 1 in the other? Ron

Can't seem to trigger compass calibration

gnapoleon: >None of these techniques work for us OK, check this out. Connect up to assistant and flip through your flight mode switch, making sure each switch position is actually giving you the change of flight mode. Now it may be doing exactly that, but maybe you're just barely activating a...

Can't seem to trigger compass calibration

I had the same problem, lack of consistent operation of the flight mode switch for calibration. I worked around it by programming another radio switch to go directly from GPS to MAN. My NAZA V1 takes exactly 7 flips every time now, starting from GPS. Radio is a DX8. Just so I don't screw the...

    F550 Naza m v2 DX8

rroesken: Send me a PM with commercial email address and I'll email you my setup file for DX8 and a NAZA V1. The NAZA to AR8000(if that's the receiver you have) wiring diagram, switch assignments and mixes should work fine for you. Ron

    Audible low battery warning suggestions?

Google lipo audio battery alarm. It's a little thing about an inch square with male pins sticking out one end. Handles lipos 2-6 cells I think. Has a small LED readout of total bat voltage and counts up through all cells, showing individual cell voltage. Most places they are less than USD10...

    Audible low battery warning suggestions?

Demunseed: You talking one of those little things that plugs into the LiPo balance cable? If so, there's a small button on the side away from where the thing plugs in to set the cell voltage you want the audio beep to go off on. The lowest is like 2.8v/cell, all the way up to 3.8-3.9. See...

Has anyone tried these leg extensions for the F450?

F450/550 legs 1/2" drip irrigation tubing. Ends heated until they slide over the landing strut. Attached with a small wire tie. Length as necessary for equipment clearance. Ron

Best way to mix a switch with failsafe

ignatius13: I might have an answer for you. I fly a F550 frame, NAZA V1 and DX8. Due to my wiring, my AR8000 gear channel was the only channel I had left. My failsafe switch is the DX8 GEAR switch. So I install this R/C remote power switch on the AR8000 gear channel to reset an OSD module...

F450 is getting to fat, need to loose weight, want to drop battery for video Tx

What's the battery voltage you're using now with the second battery? Are you using the LiPo balance connector for anything? You maybe able to tap into the balance connector for your power depending on what the VT can handle. For instance, on a 3S balance plug, using the ground wire and next...

    NAZA M Lite problems

Y6, huh? You flying it as a hexa or Y6? If Y6, you sure all the props are facing up? The bottom ones should be "upside down" when mounted on the motor.
