    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

Here´s how my second Zenmuse Z15-5D behaved. It was shipped from the factory and it was supposed to be checked before shipping. So that I would not get another defective one. The video speaks for itself. After this I gave up and managed to return the gimbal to my reseller and change it into a...

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

I did not but the fit is very tight. Maybe it would be possible by making alterations to the gimbal but it can be difficult and frustrating. The Zen 5D is designed for Canon 5d Mark II and III only. So much easier way is Movi M5. Plus you get a gimbal that probably works. Zen 5 does not. At...

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

No it wont. It won't fit and it won't balance.

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

An update: I received the IMU V2 for my Wookong-M and flew the copter with it. The copter still flew fine, but the Zenmuse 5D horizontal drift was just as bad as before. After many emails I finally got an answer from DJI Europe and I sent the gimbal - for the second time at my own expense - to...

New DJI Ronin Gimbal 16lb capacity

Nuff said. Once again, specs look good, but with DJI in question, it does not mean the gimbal would actually work at all as advertised. Take my experience with 5D Zenmuse: First came with broken tilt motor and I was unable to even test it, the other had around 20-30 degrees of horizontal drift...

A2 + Futaba 14SG Signal Loss Failsafe setup

Well I was allowed to return my A2 because according to DJI Europe support, the A2 should indeed fly home without any programming when the TX is switched off. I haven't received the new one yet. Can somebody confirm that the A2 actually works as described above?

A2 + Futaba 14SG Signal Loss Failsafe setup

Obviously the DJI engineers are not right as my DS16 internal receiver does not go into failsafe when I switch my Futaba T8FG Super off. And as I told before, when I switched my TX off, the copter stayed put, hovering. There are numerous instructions on how to program A2 failsafe into Futaba TX...

A2 + Futaba 14SG Signal Loss Failsafe setup

OK so the trick is to program the failsafe in the transmitter so that in case of TX signal lost, the RTH switch channel is goes into activated position and the Manual/Atti/Gps channel into GPS position? If this is so, presumably the same applies to Wookong-M with Futaba RX as well?

A2 + Futaba 14SG Signal Loss Failsafe setup

No it does not go into failsafe in the assistant when I turn off the transmitter. How does one setup the failsafe from the TX side in this case? In the A2 side there is no other option than what is mentioned in the assistant. And those are Hover, Go-Home and Alt Go-Home. As mentioned, I had...

A2 + Futaba 14SG Signal Loss Failsafe setup

My experience on DJI A2 failsafe is as follows. I am flying it with the built-in receiver and Futaba T8FG Super: I programmed the return to home switch to work. I configured it so that the copter rises to 30m height, returns to home and auto lands. On the field once RTH was triggered from a...

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

Yes that is an interesting option. And a real competitor to Zen 5D regardless of the 2K price difference. Because you will get a gimbal that should work as advertised plus you get to use a camera/lens of your choice. In the mean time I am waiting for my Wookong IMU V2 to arrive so I could test...

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

Well, first of all, my first Z15-5D had a broken tilt motor as demonstrated in post #84 of this thread. So the issue was not the same the first time. Secondly I think it was not "one of the few" defective ones as I was told by my reseller that at least 30% of the gimbals he ordered had the...

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

No there is not a possibility of IMU not pointed directly towards the nose of the craft. I have Cinestar-8 with Octo-Rotor I configuration so it is fairly easy to mount the IMU directly towards the nose. And the copter flies very well and completely straight. And there is no toilet bowl effect...

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

As I told before, I think the horizon stays better level when the copter hovers on one geographical spot. Once the copter starts to move - even very slowly - the loss of horizon gets much worse.

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

Using S-bus yes. Not sure about the 2 secs. Maybe thats what I did not remember to do. This can be my fault. Can´t check it now as don't have an IMU but will check once the V2 arrives. Are you still having the same horizon issues too? I presume you have also eliminated the usual. i.e...

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

I didn't get mine to start/stop video or stills, but maybe it´s just me then. Need to re-check it. As a last resort I ordered the V2 IMU to my Wookong. Also wrote another email to DJI Europe today. Let´s see if they answer this time.

    Zenmuse Z15 5D MARK III

Well I have a Wookong-M and I have been satisfied with it. It has been a trustworthy device and I would not hesitate to recommend it based on my experiences. But this thread is about Z15-5D, not Wookong. Just to clarify my background a bit: I have been flying multicopters professionally for...
