DJI Inspire 1, What's the Verdict?

2:18 -- New firmware was released today. I am updating now. It would be nice if the firmware update instructions provided some insight into what the LED is telling us. Right now I'm updating the aircraft. The process is simple -- load the firmware file onto the camera's micro-SD card then power...

    Phantom 2, Official End-of-Life Announced

One interesting thing about the end of the early Phantoms is that DJI is not offering a ready to fly option without a camera.

SOLO, New RTF Quad from 3D Robotics

The difference here is that these multis depreciate about 90% in a year or two and the batteries are shot by then anyway.

SOLO, New RTF Quad from 3D Robotics

I can say that the Inspire batteries, just for example, are not that difficult to charge using a normal charger. The plug is a pain, but that's about it. The charger itself relies on the battery to adjust current, but the battery only adjusts current to maintain a voltage necessary to charge...

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

The MŌVI M5 is awesome. I actually have one but am very addicted to it on the ground. Something close dedicated to a big multi but for less money is appealing, but if the quality isn't there it just won't be worth it. The Defy G2X does have appeal. Would really like to get my hands on one to...

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

While we are on the topic -- can someone explain how GPS can contribute to less roll drift? I'm not sure I get it.

Ronin m. What do you guys think for aerial?

Apart from DJI's Zens and the M5 is there a gimbal out there that has GPS capability? Obviously the Alexmos and Phobotic controllers are not using GPS to control drift, but lots of people use them. I'm in the market for something new. Buying yet another dedicated Zen is not appealing. For...

    Defy G2X

Does anyone have experience with this gimbal yet? I'm looking for a nice gimbal option for the new Blackmagic Micro that could also fly something up to the size of a GH4. The Defy G2X seems to be a solid option, but I have no experience with their products.

    Phantom 2, Official End-of-Life Announced

Is the Phantom 1 still officially out there? It's going for about $400 these days and is an excellent practice / first quad value.

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

I'm very enthused about this little camera, but no way would I trade my GH4 for it. Apart from size and weight the GH4 will dominate it in just about every way. The only possible exception is 1080p 24 or 30 where the global shutter on the micro might have a slight edge in some circumstances. The...

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

I would go with Canon to MFT, but the problem is finding light and wide glass. Like you say, great reviews (and definitely a nice option on the ground if you already have Canon lenses) but things get heavy fast going this route.
