    NAZA M Lite maiden help

Good question. I don't know anything about your radio. The way to make sure you are not having radio issues is to test using the NAZA assistant software. Calibrate the sticks in the assistant, then move one at time and make sure nothing else is moving along with it (classic example is a radio...

    The Future of Propeller Technology

KDE provides some nice technical data on their design. I'm not sure how up to date this is (or if I found the right material), but the results of 3 vs 2 blades seems to be more thrust with a slight efficiency loss when moving to 3 blades: The linked file is not ideal. Efficiency (grams of...

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

I've been following the CP development and it is very impressive to see how you've focussed on the infrastructure really needed to solve issues and learn from customer experience. That tells us you are positioning yourself to be in this market with real commitment, and that goes a long way to...

Put the basic gains at 150% and try a test flight in ATTI mode. Forget manual mode for now.

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

Excellent point Bart. One thing we discussed recently was how products seem to get to reviewers late in the cycle -- and usually after official release. It would be better for buyers and for the sellers to seed products with reviewers pre-release. But it seems as if the incredible speed of...

    hexacopter help

Thanks Moto! How about a quick video of this thing flying or taking off and a few pics of the build? We may be able to see something obvious that could help. Like Moto says, the ESCs are probably not the problem, but you never know...

    NAZA M Lite maiden help

I don't see anything obviously wrong in your build. I can't quite tell in the video what your LED color is -- what flight mode are you in (ATTI, GPS, or Manual?). Assuming you are in ATTI or GPS, your gains may be too low. What are your gain settings?

    hexacopter help

1000Hz is either meaningless or the problem. Standard PWM signals are little pulses ranging from 1 to 2 milliseconds in width. So the fastest you can send the signal is at a period of 2ms with a tiny gap between pulses. That means 1 / 0.002 s = 500Hz is the fastest you can send PWM signals...

Gremsy will be releasing their H6 soon.

I edited my comment -- came off as a little too prickly, I admit. I'm leaning toward the H6 right now. One pound is not so much for the added flexibility and I like the construction over the H3. If they get the H3 price close to $1,000 I'll buy both!

I may agree with you and get the H6, but only because I've gathered the information to make an informed decision. It's nice to have options.

    Pusher Multirotor

Sure, it would work. It really doesn't matter where the thrust source is. Balanced distribution of thrust relative to center of mass is important (motors work about equally to stay "level"), but that's about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pendulum_rocket_fallacy The main reason you almost...

    Dual Batteries Uneven Drain

I assume you are checking the batteries by measuring voltage. If so, one of the batteries is faulty or the connection is bad. Forget the copter. If you just connect two batteries together one will charge the other unless they have equal voltage. With the copter, this remains true unless there...

Gremsy will be releasing their H6 soon.

Just to recap a bit of this that we know so far: The H6 can carry 6 pounds and weighs 2.9 pounds in aerial mode. The H3 can carry 3.7 pounds and weighs 1.9 pounds in aerial mode. A GH4 with 12mm f/2 Oly lens is 1.5 lbs. The Blackmagic pocket with the same 12mm f/2 Oly lens is 1.1 lbs. The new...

    Solo Gimbals

It looks like the 3DR Solo is going for $999 but that does not include a gimbal. 3DR is offering a GoPro gimbal for the solo for an additional $399. The obvious 3-axis GoPro gimbal alternative is the DJI H4-3D for $399. But why do that when the new DJI Phantom 3 advanced is out there for just...

Gremsy will be releasing their H6 soon.

There is very little info out there on the H3 right now. That video was just recently posted. Wish the rep wasn't waving it around the whole time -- would have been nice to see some detail (like roll and yaw quick adjustment levers). There seems to be some sort of band running over the lens...

Gremsy will be releasing their H6 soon.

Here is an H3 video. It holds up to 3.7 pounds. For reference, a GH4 with a Panasonic 12-35 f/2.8 lens is almost exactly 2 lbs. The GH4 with an Olympus 12mm f/2 prime is 1.5 pounds. The BMPCC and the new Blackmagic micro are lighter than the GH4. More my needs, this H3 is just about perfect...

Gremsy will be releasing their H6 soon.

They have an H3 coming out this summer that seems to be about perfect for cameras up to GH4 size. The H3 is even lighter/smaller than the H6.

2015 NAB News: Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cam, Tiny, Drone-Specific Super16 RAW Camera

I've been on a gimbal hunt for this little micro for the past few days. Here is another option. I chatted with a Gremsy rep last night about their H6. The rep was very helpful and told me all about how to mount it to standard rails, etc. Later, in my searching for options I found reference to...

FREEFLY Systems Freefly ALTA, RTF collapsible hexacopter

I did a little write-up on this a while back. Not exhaustive, of course, but I came away thinking that most cases can be managed without adding capacitance. http://www.multirotorforums.com/threads/escs-and-extended-power-wires-should-we-add-capacitors.19336/
