What video cams do you guys use

Figure 900-1000 mm for the octo and just measure your car. X8 is ax excellent platform - just hang your gimbal a bit lower to get the props out of the picture.

2 Axis Brushless Gimbal DSLR size camera

What is the weight on this? Also, will my Sony PJ710V fit on this? Thanks, Tom

What video cams do you guys use

Coaxial does better in the wind, but isn't as efficient. Also the props hang lower on a coax so you're more likely to get a prop in your shot. Our next build is going to be a flat octo - it gives the most redundancy, good flight times, and can carry a large payload for upgrade possibilities. You...

What video cams do you guys use

As far as video we are big fans of the Sony PJ710V or anything with Sony's Balanced Optical Steady Shot because of it's lens stabilization. If you're looking for the best overall quality, the Panasonic GH3 is pretty amazing, though the Black Magic is also promising. If you use either of those...

    Seaside sanatorium in Waterford, CT

Not fpv. Two person setup. My wife controls the gimbal while looking at a video downlink. I also have a small screen with the video downlink attached to my controller, but I only use it from time to time in certain situations.

    Seaside sanatorium in Waterford, CT

No. I believe I was hiding under a tree just left of the building. I will say that hiding becomes a bit of an art form when shooting these things. I love playing Where's Waldo with other people's videos.

Thanks for the info Ken. Maybe I'll spring for one after all.

    Photohigher skyline rsgs

Agreed Ken. I ran that rsgs through the ringer too with no luck. Still using the av130, but it is heavily modified. The problem I've been having lately is watching all of these Alex Mos videos - I have yet to see one hold a steady horizon. They are smooth as silk, but I still see similar...

GH3, HDMI out working, but not via a converter

I also had a really strange issue with an HDMI converter - I don't remember exactly what it was - but it was fixed when I powered it directly from a lipo. I didn't think that was going to fix anything, but it did. Glad you got it to work. TB

I'm actually pretty frustrated with the Radian right now. It's definitely better than rsgs, but still having horizon issues. Honestly i think that anything short of Zen will give horizon issues because they aren't connected to the flight controller. Thanks for the kind words. TB

Just did a shoot over at an abandoned tuberculosis hospital which was later converted to a sanatorium. Hope you like it. Best, Tom
