Nice video! Some great shots in there. Don't you hate it when people can't stop staring at the machine? Just look normal people!

    Mantis hybrid Octo just completed

I did a lot of reading about the pros and cons of coaxial vs flat. Coaxial is supposed to cut wind better, bit it's less efficient. I guess the reason it cuts wind better is because not all the props are on the same plane, and the reason it's less efficient is that props are blowing into other...

    Looking for higher quality camera

The Panasonic GH3 is almost unbeatable - especially at the weight. If you want to get better than GH3, then you're looking at a hacked 5D Mark III, or maybe a Black Magic and then on to things like a RedEpic. Oh, I'm only talking about video. For stills, there are a number of options -...

    Mantis hybrid Octo just completed

Well after too many hours on these forums and too much money that we don't really have, I've completed my first build. Just had the maiden today. Everything went great. It's a Vulcan Mantis 1080 - but every other arm is a Z arm - so four regular arms and 4 Z arms. T-Motor MN4012 400KV...

    Web site service -- RCDrones.com

We have a rig that Tony built and its bulletproof. Great guy and does great work. He is near impossible to contact though. Keep emailing and calling.

To stabilise or not to stabilise... THAT is the question

I was about to ask the exact same question about the GH3. How important is the ois from the 12-35mm Panasonic lens versus the Olympus 12mm prime without ois? Thanks, Tom

Dji WKM kep rotating and crashed

V1 GPS is ok. Red flashes mean lost GPS signal. Did you have GPS lock before the flight? Did you try atti or manual before the crash? Most escs you do have to program. Not sure about t motor specifically. You need to set battery type to nicad, fail safe off, high timing, etc... Also need to...

    regarding IMU and GPS replacement

V1 was ok. The first batch of v2 was bad and needed to be sent in to upgrade to v3. The newer ones are all supposed to be v3 even if they say v2. Clear as mud right?i have no idea how to tell if you have v2 or v3. Tryingtofigure that out myself. Best, tom

    Time to learn

Try building one yourself. You should be able to build a decent hex for less than $1k. Add a small brushless gimbal and you could get some great footage there. Start looking at some of the build threads here to give you ideas. Best, Tom

Anyone know someone that stocks the AV200 legs?

RC-Drones had the AV130 legs, so I'd bet he has the AV200 legs also.

Highlights from a summer shoot at Dewees Island

I was thinking of using this: http://www.rctimer.com/product_868.html With this: http://www.brushlessgimbals.com/p/8688395/pan-axis-motor-cage-with-iflight-5208-motor.html And then connecting your gimbal to the bottom. Then attach two AlexMos controllers, and voila - 3-axis brushless...

Highlights from a summer shoot at Dewees Island

We are about to pull the trigger on a new gimbal. We will be using a pj710v, nex 5n, and soon a gh3. We will also need 3rd axis stab. Thinking about using the rctimer 3rd axis cinestar clone with brushless adapter for the yaw. What motors should we buy for this setup? Will you be offering 3rd...

    Sony NEX for stills: settings?

It depends on if you're using an HDMI converter and an IR trigger. If you are using both of those things then you probably need to shoot in manual focus. This means you will need to look at something as far away as possible and focus for that (infinity focus). We do a white balance before...
