Chris What you did was to remove the deadband from the mechanical camera mount linkage and add a dampener. As seen by the IMU, but no change to the servo gearbox backlash. So I think that the addition of a small spring to take out that movement would make it even better. The dampener could be...

How steady should a NAZA without GPS be? New NAZA

Maybe it is as simple as applying some right trim. center the rudder trim so that it starts to move the same to the left as the right. This could be the result of a bad stick calibration. Or a bad prop.

What firmware are you running? My problem came after 5.12

    Why mass balancing

Three actually, two KS-8 and one KS-12. very powerful. very heavy. Mechanical stabilization is a thing of the past. But it only works if it is balanced properly with each axis crossing at a precise central point and you keep it away from wind. Arm movements are not used that much as it is a...

It seems to be related to deadband. So with more camera inertia or weight offset. It could be ironing out the feedback discrepancy. It is in effect trying to run two deadbands. The first thing to do is to get rid of the backlash in the drive system. A spring may be the answer. Or use two servos...

It fell into the sea. the reason is not yet clear why the motors stopped.

What's the use of POI flying in aerial photography.....???

Chris It still quite new technology so I guess the old pros are still doing it the old way with two operators. It will come soon enough. My Zen is back at the factory but it was on the list of things to do next.

    Why mass balancing

I did build a balanced beam quad a while back and it was very good until it got a bit turbulent. Once that floating mass starts to run out of travel it can interfere with the models stability then it can get very unstable. The MKS HV787 is a very fast servo at 8.4 volts also the Hitec HS-M 7990th

    Why mass balancing

Well thanks Chris. I have published about twenty books already so I just want to slip into gradual retirement. Tried it once and my golf did not improve so I guess I'll just have to keep working a bit longer.

    Why mass balancing

Well I'll be 70 next year. It's not the short term stress that gets you, it's when you turn up for say a live Eurovision Song contest rehearsal and some ***** of a director hands you a shot list and you see you're camera 7 which means you are going to spend the next 6 hours running on and off...

    Why mass balancing

Yep, it certainly was rough over the bumps, I don't think the Zen would take that. Ecilop uses a balanced beam and some electronics so it should be quite good but probably a little heavy. I'm glad I no longer do big rig steadicam work. You need to be very strong and it takes it's toll on your...

What's the use of POI flying in aerial photography.....???

The rotational is one of my specialities and it hard to do properly. You focus on say a light house and zoom in a little, then as you rotate the background whizzes past in the opposite direction. It usually takes two people to get it right. Looks better if you are the same height as the subject...

    Why mass balancing

I found this clip from a few years back that shows a mod. that I made to my steadicam big rig. It shows how mass balancing can stabilize even a seventy pound rig like this one. Ivan the terrible takes me over every speed bump in Limassol to conduct the test at high speed. Another camera in the...

    Twin Copter flying wing?

Crash, good to see you here again. Old Minsoo has made a few valuable contributions to the world of MR. This one has the potential to be the most lift efficient device for a cameraship yet seen.

The 4 FSR settings can be accessed through the registry if the board uses all of the pin outs. What the DMP brings to the table is the extra space in the processor now that it does not need a separate AHARS fusion algorithm to be installed there. Fully scriptable camera controls etc. Object...

Zenmuse as a stand alone gimbal

The solution to that problem is to take the yaw/rudder to the gimbal from the FC receiver and then you add a mix to keep it just out of UC view. Fly the gimbal heading and the model follows.
