My apologies, but if nobody says it, it will go on and it is so simple to fix. We want to praise people for their effort when it's good, informative and helps others. If you have enough skill to post the video then surely you can also remove what nobody wants to see.

The best stand alone imu that I have seen is the ARDUimu V-3 but it is not yet a plug and play device. you can find it at DIYDrones but unless you fully understand the manual don't buy it. It utilizes the Invensense MPU-6000 (DMP) This a 9 degree of freedom device that has its own built in...

Why do people still do this. Who wants to sit there and watch the ground waiting for the eventual lift off when it is so easy to edit that part out. It is till jumping about and not acceptable anyway. I thought that Tabb had an imu for his gimbal that was working OK? The Cinestar gimbal is...

I think the problem is with the accelerometer gain being too high. The voltage issue is all done within the servo board, which works ok in normal pwm mode. You could add some caps. to the motor terminals This idea is not new as Geo Mamo will no doubt confirm, I had a mechanical gyro system...

Surely all it needs to do is modify the resistance to span the desired movement.

Impressions after first shoot with S800 and Z15 w/ NEX5n

Absolutely right skivvie but there is no doubt that this stuff is going to raise the bar. People can now start to learn how to make aerial films and not spend all their time farting about trying to get something that is almost stable..

Zenmuse as a stand alone gimbal

Well the solution to that, comes in the form of a shooting mode they call FPV, where the pan axis is locked to the models heading so you don't see the skids. I like this feature a lot.

    5-axis stabilisation

Sure, but some are better than others. The Balanced Optical stab. System on the 730 seems to be one that works for some reason. I have not tried it personally.

If we do that then we need to redesign the whole thing.....If I were Mr. Kimberly Attwood I would not want to put my name to this POS. Clearly this company has no idea what they are doing, like a few others out there. The new models in the pipeline are also lacking in any design expertise. They...

Impressions after first shoot with S800 and Z15 w/ NEX5n

I don't have any news from DJI not even about my repairs. Sent on the 16th and still not at the factory.

    5-axis stabilisation

Using the lens as a fine tuning aid would be a far cheaper option than a replicated cineflex system.

    5-axis stabilisation

It would have to be islolated. How else could it work. It has to sense the actual disturbance that passes the outer system. It is a closely guarded secret how the inner axis works on the latest models but the Zenmuse also has separate sensors for each axis. The orientation of how the extra gyros...

Impressions after first shoot with S800 and Z15 w/ NEX5n

Stand by Yuri, I do have some footage of a standard TDI. It is the smoothest and fastest thing in the sky. Yep. the Zen does have its own IMU but it is also integrated to the WKM and not just for commercial reasons it uses at least the mag. in the IMU. It probably also uses the gyros/Accels as...

Impressions after first shoot with S800 and Z15 w/ NEX5n

The Z15 does require having a WKM as it accesses the FC IMU but that does not mean that you have to use the WKM as a FC i.e. you could still use your Hoverfly board. If that is what turns you on. If you want to build the best then take a Z15 and put it on the front of a TDI helicopter and use...

Impressions after first shoot with S800 and Z15 w/ NEX5n

I did notice that the Nex-7 is quite prone to accumulating a little dust when changing the lens. I think that the 24 will be a great lens which would be easy to balance. But I think there is some other stuff that you could use with the converter. Having used the stabilised standard zoom lens...

Impressions after first shoot with S800 and Z15 w/ NEX5n

Most times I am the DOP so if it cuts the mustard then it's ok with me. Very little to choose between the Nex-7 and the 550D on a good prime lens at F8...... What determines if the footage is good or not is how fast you move the camera. Their are a lot of DoP's out there who don't have a clue...

    Zenmuse to S800 connection

It goes back some time now to a previous set-up that I had before the Zen came along, basically you fly the camera and the model follows so it is similar to FPV mode with some extra pan stab. movement.

The pan axis comes after the tilt and then roll adjustments, then you place it on it's side. You know when it's right because however you move it, it always stays in it's original place. A good technique for slow moves is to use the trim only.

Impressions after first shoot with S800 and Z15 w/ NEX5n

Some nice camera moves which shown the Zen to be working a good deal better than most other stuff out there. A little too fast in places. Pull back at the end is great. I have 50% expo and no issues with pan stop/start. I did need some slight rebalancing on the Pan axis. Out of the box this...
