Actually I have a lot to loose by falling out with DJI and in reality nothing to gain. If someone really want to find out about what DJI are doing the best way is to buy the product. regard that info as an interlude whilst we all wait and wait.:tennis:

Jess You are quite right about the results demo video. I looked at it closely. The P in P shows what the camera is seeing which purports to be raw un edited footage. Any similarity between that and what the GoPro shows as the true camera angle is purely coincidental. I can say with total...

Just to diverse for a moment, The more that I look at this thing the less I like it. What intelligent person would design a landing gear so that it focusses all of the landing loads at the weakest point and then drills a nice hole at that point. Oh I get it. It's supposed to break. Yeah that...

not mrc related, but credit due

Got some video etc. sounds great but It would be good to see what stuff they used.

Like a few others I'm sure, I bought 4 Piclocs in the past and had no satisfaction from any of them despite some very good back up and personal help from GM. A nice guy but doesn't want to listen. Until the penny drops with regard to FSR it will be like all of the other crap out there. Maybe it...

Speaking as someone who has actually fitted the ferrite rings and done a good twisted cable loom I can say that the improvement is very small. It will not take away the intensity of interference when the model is airborne. The cross axis interference increases to more than just jitter, it...

I agree this product does not fulfill the legal requirement of being fit for purpose. A mistake like this could put someone out of business. Hope you bought with a credit card. At least last week showed that Vodaphone Maclaren found a Eureka moment in F1. (At Last).

I doubt that they wrote this firmware themselves. the point is, what did they copy?

We are not out of the woods yet as this thing did not cut the mustard once it was in the air. Jitter is back again. Starting to look more like an algorithm problem or they left off the board some filtering components. As it is a cross axis problem it could be quite a serious nut to crack. Time...

My own developments are centered around the use of much smaller and lighter components that use Piezoelectric transducers which come in many shapes and sizes the motors are a based on the these PCB ones. The whole idea is that the framework is built around 3 PCB boards that will have a PWM input...

I got this as a play thing for the 550D and a test base for a new adventure into the use of 4 voice coil driven inner axis system.

I'll do that after I have flown it as It may need more work. I don't like the idea of a friction brake to stop the jitter, that is the opposite way that this needs to work. Mass balance would be useless in that scenario.

I now have it working OK, I will fly it this weekend to check it out properly. Completely new wiring loom. Spring system and balance. I would say that this is about as good as it will ever be. If it were possible to access the PID then there could still be an improvement. With the state of...

The wind has an effect on all gimbals even a Zen, it is a question of how much. This issue is not related to that in any way. Only two things can alter the servos position. One is the PWM input and the other is the resistance at the potentiometer. To have jitter one or both of these values...

With the tilt servo working in slew mode the servo deadband will be there at all positions. it has to have some deadband or the servo would just oscillate back and forth and be impossible to park. The mechanical backlash has a bearing on the IMU resolution which is not the issue at this stage...

I have been trying a few things to find a solution that helps everybody. The only thing that did make quite a big difference was to put ferrite rings around the servo cables (both sets). That cut down the jitter by about 70% but a small amount is still there. I also swopped out the tilt servo...

I just do not know what to do with this, I now have a really bad cross axis error and the tilt servo just started to rotate one way only maybe I can get more sense out of 1.1.3 I think the gyros are saturating. There is not one single function that works correctly. There was some talk about a...
