So your servo is working in slew mode. that should not affect the centering unless you have a deadband issue from the servo output source. I cant see how it relates to the pot resistance.

The drift has nothing to do with the pot. most IMUs just use an accelerometer which will drift over time. DJI uses the Magnetometer (compass) as well. It is an option on picloc.

    Want some inspiration?

When you make your living doing this stuff the portrait /landscape thing comes into play. Most of the requirements from publishers are for portrait images. With enough rez. you can have both from one good portrait shot. When I shot the Palace Pier at Night in the early 90's I had Jason wanting...

How to return goods to DJI

Thanks for the offer Sandos Fact is that I am quite capable of doing the repair myself but they delivered faulty goods and I want them to fix it. As far as spare parts go I am doubtful that they even have them on the shelf. The Zen may actually need some internal electronics that were damaged by...

    Zenmuse to S800 connection

Ed Although I would always use the pan axis it would not need to move more than about 6 degrees each way, it is there for attaining that perfect stabilization only. I have gotten away with two axis before and even no camera movement at all and got good results but for the pro end only I feel it...

How does the Z15 do as a 2 person setup?

The HDMI cable is fitted close to the camera body and does not move however you position the camera. Swap it out with what Bart? I have used it as a two and a one man op. It works perfectly. Unlike the DJI company. Juri I don't think your problem should be making the decision about buying one...

How does the Z15 do as a 2 person setup?

You should have the pan and tilt on one stick and the roll on the other stick or a switch. it is easy to use and works perfectly in the right hands.

How to return goods to DJI

Having purchased the S800/Zenmuse directly from DJI in China on the preorder deal it would naturally follow that if it should need to be returned for any reason then you would send it back to that Address. Well that is what I did at a cost of 290 euros TNT three day fast service. That was on the...

    Zenmuse to S800 connection

Ed The pan axis on the Zen is extremely accurate and if you want you can turn it off and run in FPV mode. I would not want to be without that 3rd axis for pro shooting as it really shows up in the video quality once you start to pan the camera around manually. even slowly. How much weight do you...

    Zenmuse to S800 connection

I was getting a comfortable 14 mins. with this battery powering everything. Around 8 mins with a Zippy 5000 Mah. which is much lighter. For commercial use I preferred the cheaper and lighter battery and change it after each detail is completed. The use of the telemetry module on the DX-8 is a...

    Zenmuse to S800 connection

There are not enough can ports to use the data link. so leave that out until DJI come up with a split cable. Your Zen will not calibrate correctly unless it sees the WKM IMU. Talking to DJI on that subject is like talking to the wall.

New toy for us camera geeks

I think the way fwd. will be to have a lens and a sensor only, as the main capture device that will have various dockable back ends to suit whatever the requirements will be.

Naza falls out of the sky... Attitude Mode / Intelligent cut off problem

I think it was an ESC failure, I could hear one motor screaming out of phase. That could have come from a bad joint or a short across the motor wires inside the motor.

    Photohigher skyline rsgs

Yes, the weekend has passed and no sign of the elusive....... Unless this thing has got a high sensitivity gyro inside it then the amplification is just going to output more noise as the gain is increased. reduce the gain and then it wont hold the accuracy. You can do only so much with filtering.

Absolutely right, I doubt that one percent of the heavy lift machines out there will ever earn a penny with a high end camera. Directors just don't give that work to people without the track record.

Less obvious uses for MultiRotors ...

A general decline in the construction industry has slowed down progress recording but it is still a major requirement. The materials and equipment on site at specific times must be shown in a high degree of detail. Better done at lower level offered by UAV's The QS is the man you need to know...

Less obvious uses for MultiRotors ...

I have in the past flown every marina in the British isles at specific dates to determine how many boats were in dry dock. This info tells the main operators who is financially in good shape and who needs to be taken over. Not really a job for a UAV but you get the idea. It took best part of a...
