WHY or perhaps the question should be WHY NOT

One of the other considerations is that of speed. It is not much use at low level unless you are following a car for example but the higher you go the faster you need to travel. I don't think I'll be flying a TDR through that hoop nor inspecting insulators so It is not all perfect. I just think...

WHY or perhaps the question should be WHY NOT

I am sure that hoverfly has some good stuff going on and as Jeremy put it, a few bugs still to sort out with all of the top systems. What I do find hard to come to terms with is the disadvantages that are still there even when it is working right. The TDR takes up far less room in the back of...

WHY or perhaps the question should be WHY NOT

When I look back at my most successful aerial platforms in terms of time and effort against the results that I was able to create. The MR does not actually fair very well. The first and possible the best was and still is my 2 meter carbon blade motor glider. capable of over 200 KPH in the dive...

    Photohigher RSGS Skyline Owners thread

Mine is actually working quite well now but it does not look much like the original product. Thought I would update my Naza to GPS and go test fly it this morning . Oh dear the Naza now has a random instability that makes it almost unflyable. Any one else having problems with Naza upgrade

I think we need a low pass filter on the V.ref return. But right now it's 40 degrees and I'm staying on the boat.

Dampening and a tight mechanical movement helps a lot but I can see by the temperature build up in the tilt rotor motor that it is working overtime when it is not actually moving. The noise feedback issue has to be rectified in the IMU. because that tilt motor behaves normally when the roll...

Jeremy I think that stuff is a bit heavy going but looking back to the first PID algorithms I think they were created as a solution to the steer large ships in high current flows to arrive at a track made good destination. With regard to the friction devices that I have made They are quite...

I have mine running in direct drive now on the tilt axis. I decided the the elastic band drive had to go. I would have used a 8.4 volt servo from Hitec but the ref v. to the Pot is different so it doesn't work with Skyline so now using a Savox again. This could still be improved with higher...

I think you just proved a point, I dont have a AV200 to test but for sure it is a better design because of the tray rigidity and the position of the IMU. Frame bending is a function of feedback overshoot oscillation. not the same as pulling the IMU with the wires. I did say that the mounting of...

500 on a AV130 with a heavy camera - This I would like to see, As they say when the flag drops........ I guess it's time to start showing some mirror tests and some flight videos. When facts are few bull**** abounds. I now have this working not far short of the Zen. lets see what you have. And...

The idea that has transformed the performance is shown in the picture. All this crap about wiring is not going to help much. Two things have made this work. One is the mounting of the imu and the other is the damper on the tray arm. I did explain why it has to be this way. When I say work I mean...

I don't understand this, about a week ago we said that the power should come from three different sources. So I did that back then and saw a slight improvement but I had already cured the jitter. I could get no more than about 80 on the tilt gain which was nowhere near the required pointing...

I stand by what I said, the imu cannot work correctly if the any of the shafts are strapped down. Especially the servo output. You guys want a solution to fix the problem don't you. It is not correct but it works to a level which the average hobbyist would now be happy with. As I cannot access...

After some further attempts to get the resolution without the oscillations I found this.... The gain setting on the tilt axis needs to be at least 250 otherwise it is way to slow too start the initial correction. (the FSR of your gyro is too high) That gain setting (250) is much too high to...

Just got my S800 "gimbal Question"

At no time did I ever have any issues with the S800 and stability, it was as good as anything else that I have seen. I also did not need to retune any settings. Straight out of the box it will work with a Zen.
