I suspect that despite scoring a 9 1/2 (out of 10) for the landing, and flying really well fpv with a dedicated fpv onboard camera... he forgot to start the GH2! Been there... done that ;) Not good when you are recording a "oncer". Pete

Hoverfly HFP - Weird Power Up Behaviour

I had an intermittant programming problem that was fixed by exercising the dip switch (positive firm movements) and then reflashing. Pete

    Hoverfly Be still?

It is still only fully armed when you left-right arm it. A separate 3S FC-only battery is the easy option. Plug the flight batts in when required.

    My brushless gimbal result

Very nice. Damn... looks like I'll have another project coming up! Pete

Guessing the tuning due to non-existant guidelines / instructions is what many of us want to see sorted... and in comes MikeH :D There are obviously lots that can be fiddled with on the RSGS but PH ability to sell and not support has seriously damaged their reputation. Not all of us Kiwis work...

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

Awesome Mat... even if you had to throw your hybrid design in on it ;) Pete

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

He said lift "something" twice the weight... could be anything! We wouldn't go into the "do you know what you could carry on that thing???" slant... Pete

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

Aye Up Just what I need to see while "at work..."! What length arms (on the copter)? I suspect I'll order the DW VM3 but without the u/c. I prefer my diy u/c as it handles landing while drifting forwards better than the stock u/c: I just need to finish 2 x quad builds that...

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

Very nice. I have been looking at building a foldable Y6 fpv / video platform and your video just makes sure my mind isn't on work (like it should be). Your comments about a hexa vs Y6. I lost a motor on my diy hexa last year and it came down... ugly but it came down sideways but upright in...

    Junior Multirotor training.

well... no. Their aim sucked. Good editing from 4 takes! One of them could swing a bag though!

    Junior Multirotor training.

Sometimes you just have to fly like someone else... like this add last year where I flew (blind) over the entranceway from inside the venue, before sitting down on the golfcart and driven full noise down the hill. They chose the first take - as I was all over the place - just like a teenager...

    TAROT 3axis Gimbal Stabilization System

I too am waiting. The promoter on RCG on this item has been suspended for continuous pushy one-sided promos without any proof that it works. Wait patiently... for someone else to try it first :-) Pete

Great stuff. It certainly looked like a 2.5yo was flying ;) Pete

    Hoverfly HFPro, Failsafe?

I gave up on AH with 4.6.anything - you have to be pretty stable in a level hover for it to work apparently. I tried to set it up - 20 minutes of takeoffs, climb to 50', try it, land, change it, try again and I got +/- 4' but it wasn't consistent. Certainly not enough to hit AH and solo-shoot...

    Never had this happen before!

I tested mine on 4S and while the brightness was awesome, the components got really hot - and they were in free-air, not sleeved! I run mine off the same 12V ubec as the a/v TX. Pete

I power my rsgs off a UBEC with the -ve common with the rx (and signal of the tilt). The servos are directly connected to the rsgs, but the whole mount has it's own 10A UBEC. Not a fancy one... just a big Hobbyking one. Pete

Zero UAV Zero UAV YS-X6 [Owners Thread] *Autopilot system for multirotors*

I had my first Hexa fall out the sky after the FC and Rx went low-voltage from a stalled tilt servo (and too smaller ubec) and the servo dragged the ubec voltage down. It was only an Openpilot CC board... For education sake, here is the demo/instructional video why you spend $ on large...
