Power for LED lights on 6S battery

"the only 3S is gnd-pin 4" isnt quite right. 3S / 12v is a voltage difference between two pins. Eg. Approx 4v between Gnd/pin1 and pin 2. Another 4v between pin 2 and pin 3 etc. So you will have approx 12v difference between 1 and 4, 2 and 5, 3 and 6, 4 and 7. Just don't common the...

    DIY Folding Travel Y6

3 layers of balsa to produce "balsa ply" :D As for the weight - I measured the weight of Hobbyking 2mm plate that I used on the other one. For the same area (without lightening holes), I am 5% lighter! Retracts got fitted last night onto the painted arms. As for making the channels, I...

Power for LED lights on 6S battery

Yup Series... I quickly realised what I had typed by the time I walked to the other end of the house (rushed back and corrected it) - but you clicked "read" first ;)

Power for LED lights on 6S battery

Cheaper and lighter... I thought a plug n play HK $4.50 12v ubec would fit nicely! How much are your 6S worth? ;) Sorry - sometimes the hassle of creative wiring isn't worth it but if you are determined... it's dead easy. Have your lights in pairs and run them in series. 12v + 12v = 24v :D Pete

    Help!!!

3S is the right voltage but the 50gram motors you have is on the small size if you plan on carrying anything more than the battery. I would recommend a 3S2200 20-25 minimum. I wouldn't go with a larger battery. Just better C rating. Pete

    DIY Folding Travel Y6

Next morning, a stunning result. A quick clean-up around the edges with the bandsaw and sandpaper followed by more epoxy just around the edge to seal the wood. I cut the 18mm pine arms to length and router-ed a slot for the motor wires to go into. I didn't to go too deep. The...

    DIY Folding Travel Y6

I built a wood and Hobbyking carbon sheet folding Y6 using RCT2836/11 750Kv motors and it went really well... ... so well that a club mate wanted it and bought it. Time to design my "good Y6" I started with ordering Sunnysky X2212 980Kv motors and 18A Plush esc's. I was going to use...

    Anyone using the Martinez board

Good answers :) I have had the board for a while but with limited (no) info when I got it, I have done other projects in the mean time. This morning I thought 'yes, I have all the paperwork, drivers, 048 all ready' and off I went reflash the 046 supplied board with 048. Hmmmffff I need the...

    Team BlackSheep arrested in Italy.

I know... I agree... we haven't had a commercial system of any design hit anyone in my country yet. I don't plan on being the first!

You just might have something here... but liability concerns will always have some impact on flying over people.

SunnySky Motors in a Y6 looking for some quick answers...

I have 10 of them... DWx hexa and a quad. The 3.4Kg 4S5000 hexa had too much power with 12x6 narrow APC clones (hover at under 40%) and I trimed them to 10.5" to achieve the 50% hover. The quad is 3Kg and using the full-size 12x6 props and it rocks! So much power available if you choose...

KK Flight Controller What am I doing wrong with kk2.0

There is a "Receiver Test" setting on the front menu. It shows what you what the KK2 is getting from the Tx. Have a look there before you mess with anything else. If the KK2 is not seeing the sticks move (in the right direction) or any movement, check that you have binded your rx properly...

Certification... not me either at the moment. That is why nearly every shoot I do at the moment is from a C172 (with a commercial charter pilot). I am shooting larger developments and road construction so a C172 is the right solution anyway. No OSH paperwork! I used to fly 25 years ago... I...

    Team BlackSheep arrested in Italy.

For some flying areas, it is simply a safety concern. Throw in a bit of "social concience" too... I was contacted by my local paper last week and asked if I would fly a gopro at 20-50' over the local Agricultural Fieldays Event (the largest of its kind in the southern hemispere). They...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Brave Move for DroidWorx - Offering RTF systems

They are now offering basic and advanced training packages. I know that in New Zealand, there is a push for "commercial aerial photographers" to have a UAS Operators Certificate. NZ CAA has issued only 10 certificates so far. There are a lot of operators though ;) While not difficult, they...

    First multirotor

Ok... where to start. The motors are CAPABLE of drawing 17A when loaded up with a big enough propeller and lots of throttle. My hexa hovers at My 1.5Kg hexa hovers at under 24 amps - 4A per motor. 10 minutes hover from a 3000mA pack.
