No worries ;) No offence taken. Plastic vs carbon. A brief summary :D Plastic is cheap Plastic are often easy to bend and do not fly as well as firmer blades. Often difficult to get good video due to vibrations. They handle tip-overs and bumps. APC / GFP are firmer and more expensive but...

Stacky and I did some serious testing and checking with 3 hours at the field. It was minor tip-over. He would have seen the state of the props before lifting off. We recently discussed a commercial aerial photo-shoot where Stacky decided not to fly in the end due to lack of options / poor...

I'm open to suggestions over the KK2 V1.2 programming! I need to tune it as the gains are too high...

60 minutes of flight time cut to 6. The copter is a bit wobbly (good ol KK2) and the Gopro has some jello but some of this is good I think. Not bad since I've flown only 2-3 times fpv in the last year. Pete

    Photohigher skyline rsgs

It does take time. I found that my gimbal would roll slightly when I tilted all the way down. I realigned the rsgs as it wasn't perfectly inline... it took a dozen tries but I got it... tilting without a roll. I think your problem is just like mine... but in the other axis. Mine looked so...

    Homemade wooden frame

Awesome work :-) Wood is so underrated for multis. They help absorb vibes and let you create anything! I even have the u/c and camera mount frame out of wood under my Droidworx hexa :) Pete

I've just flown my DW VM-6 with rsgs fpv for the first time. Good results. Lots to edit but with careful smooth flying, the results were stable :) Pete

Stacky and I did a run out to the Hamilton field this morning. I knocked off 7 batteries - 5 in the new FPV machine. That only stopped because I fell off the top of the fields dunny while landing fpv on the roof! I flew 360M away and to the 400' limit (with an observer). We had a blast. I...

    Y6 Builders thread

I love my DW VM-6. Assembled in hours, everything locked into place straight. A pleasure to build after diy'ing for so long. I have flown it in 30Km winds (Hoverfly is awesome in the wind) but I am using thin APC's - not SF. SF catch the wind too much. I haven't fpv'd the DW yet...

Very cool. I approve! I have a Y6 on my list next... I keep getting project creep... Pete

Standard Gopro2. I still have lots of vibes to sort. The fpv is from the separate cam to the side of the Gopro. I am using 1.3g - 400mW on this. I will be range-testing it tomorrow with Stacky coming down for a play at the field. The KK2 isn't behaving yet. A few instability wobbles that I...

I fly a heap but I don't do much with fpv at all... although I have had a set of goggles for 5 years! I threw together last night. Nothing fancy. RCT 2836/11 motors, KK2 controller, 3S and 4S capable. Pete

KK Flight Controller Kk controller direction arrow

The white arrow points straight forward - to the front of the copter. Straight at motor#1. Not the way it is shown in your hexa photo. Here was my first hexa. Pete

Ok... you win. If it makes you feel better, I am building a new fpv hack tonight so I can have some combat flying against Stacky. I managed to slice (with a blade) a nice longitudinal line up the last joint of my index finger... just above the gash I got tramping 10 days ago. Duh! Pete

    So it begins....

In a recent newspaper interview, I was asked about my attitude towards privacy while flying my "drone" (I hate that word)... and I said that I would be more worried about the new Canon and Panasonic point n shoot cameras with 50x zoom lenses - where someone from the privacy of their own home...
