    My new Y6

Helloman... you need a new flying field! Flying over water is fun BUT you certainly play on the edge with "risk management"! Pete

My turn to make a Y6

I have been looking at a model suitable for travelling / tramping. I built a travel Tricopter over two years ago and it was brilliant :D Time to go for an fpv folding Y6. I will look at some Sunnysky motors but I have a dozen spare RCTimer 2836/11's - so today I built a Y6. 630mm m-m 18mm...

    Editing software.... Where to start?

I use Cyberlink Powerdirector 10. Downloaded online, works well for me, especially with 1080p from the Gopro and Sony RX100. Lots of tutorials. Pete

Very good statement about Multirotors, FPV and legal regulation......

Unfortunately, while Bruce does make some good statements, the abrasive nutter way that he deals with many of his "issues" greatly impacts the crediblilty of the good stuff. ...just saying ;)

Brushless Gimbal Complete - Vendor Links

My "Martinez" was sent from HK and (according to the EMS tracking) is about to arrive :) I suspect I just might have to build my brushless mount tonight :D I have the 4006-120 motors coming with it which (they claim) are good for 400-800g cameras. I'll design + build once I have the motors...

    External Potentiometer

The external pot is great if you are modifying the servo for continuous rotation with reduction belts/gears. The internal pot is only good for 270 deg of servo rotation. If you have a 5:1 belt/gear reduction from servo to tilt, for the mount to tilt 90 deg down, the servo needs to rotate 4 x...

Brushless Gimbal Complete - Vendor Links

Another to the list is the "Martinez" board and IMU from fpv-community.de (Germany). "hdworld" is listing them on the 'for sale' list here on MRF. The 'V3' is getting positive murmours... I just might have taken a gamble and ordered one with the 4006-120 motors. I downloaded the GUI tonight...

Octocopter at the Arnold Palmer Invitational 2013

A copter that size and weight should be much smoother... if you can fly!

You need to completely remove the old software from your pc before installing the new one. V1.7 does the occassional BSOD too. They need a new programmer at PH! Pete

Hoverfly Setting up Autolevel on HFP.. small question.

This setting decides how fast the copter will return to level. It doesn't alter what level is - just how fast and smoothly it goes to level. I use around 15-25% on my machines. I can be hard-forward on the pitch and be flying at 50Km/hr and let the stick go "twang" to central and the copter...

Page#66 covers a fair bit with help from 1001, TomBrown and MikeH but the essentials are: The number one tip... The camera must be perfectly balanced (so the servos/board are not fighting gravity). Remove the belts and make sure the tilt (especially) and the roll have the camera happy to sit...

MikeH has written a new instruction manual for the Skyline (he does not work for them... but he cares)- one that acually teaches you about how important it is to have it perfectly balanced and what each gain setting does. I had a peak/proof-read and it is really good. PH have had this document...
