Hoverfly Tilt axis help with HFP

I have diy'd my camera mounts and have a variety of Pot feedback arrangements (direct and reduction)... but if you have to buy another pot, get a good one. Some cheap ones become intermittant with any flexing/movement near them. Pete

    Hello From Christchurch NZ

Greetings, welcome. I hope your weather is better than our this weekend. This was Hamilton this afternoon (from the Gopro between torrential downpours + lightning) How is your soldering on the PDB? Pete

    Seeking Flight Controller upgrade advice.

The NAZA is not a rock-steady solution... but you also need to assess the weather conditions and weight that you fly at. Even the "pro's" will not get rock-steady footage with a 3.5Kg machine in 10Km or higher winds. The Hoverfly Pro board gives me almost rock-steady flight with my VM-6 -...

Hoverfly New Aerdro XY8 w/ Hoverfly Pro/GPS going home!

Seriously... read the HF manual. They do a few things different to DJI but once you get used to it, you will love just how damn simple they are to calibrate and test-fly. Work through the ground calibration process with the setup client after you have read the manual. The main thing is...

Brushless Gimbal Complete - Vendor Links

Martinez version... I went for a bit of a gamble and ordered the Martinez system - whick arrived in 5 days to NZ. What I ordered was... "Martinez v3" controller, IMU and T-motor 4006/120. I have built my diy gimbal and have it balanced with just the Gopro at the moment. I am relying on...

WOW!!! talk about risky aerial filming. No MR's but...

You need to be a special kind of nutter to do this! I loved it. There are many that are trying this sort of stuff but very few are getting that low. I did some Extra-300 aeros (with a 5000 hour instructor) 3 years ago. I had a go at the "Redbull Airrace Slalom" at only 175Kts with a virtual...

    Another one bites the dust...

Just to stir the pot :highly_amused: I doubt the "in the Thames" line. At 32 seconds, just after the the copter descends quietly below the crowd line, I see something fly up (much like a broken prop) above the heads. I suspect it hit something harder than water... Pete

My turn to make a Y6

http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__14838__Digital_Servoless_Retractable_system_1pc_54g.html Yup - $8 each I have Y-leaded them and I use a separate ESC's BEC to the one powering the FC (well I have 5 spare). I have 150mm 1/8" solid carbon legs with some soft rubber tube feet. Pretty...

My turn to make a Y6

I would like another Hoverfly Pro board (I have 2) but the $ are a bit challenged at the moment... I will give the Multiwii Paris (with gyro + inertia) a go. It will be here is a few days. I like simple FC setups. I hate programming - it is work (I am a telco engineer full-time) so the...

My turn to make a Y6

I get 10 minutes from 80% of 3000. Not just hovering but real flying - with gopro on board. 1500g AUW It will of course fly nicely with my new 2200 packs but the 3000 was closer on the bench! In the wind, a bit more weight is stability. As a travel copter, it will come with me tramping...

My turn to make a Y6

I have had some problems with my newly aquired 2nd-hand Hoverfly Sport board BUT it appears that the cheap n nasty KK2 has the same motor layout (and hole positions) as the HFS. Awesome! 5 minutes later, the KK2 sits on the c-o-g point. The KK2 is not super-smooth like a Hoverfly board but...

Hoverfly HoverFly Sport - artificial horizon not working properly

I set the quad up for "Sport", but the Y6 I set to AP.

Hoverfly HoverFly Sport - artificial horizon not working properly

Thanks It behaves the same on a quad and Y6 and all the motors + esc's are pre-used. I'll look again tonight but I suspect I have a dud... :( Cheers Pete

Hoverfly HoverFly Sport - artificial horizon not working properly

Sorry.. Jumping on your thread... You guys being HF Sport gurus... is there any testing I can do on my 2nd hand HFS to check if it is functioning properly. My HFS Y6 flies forward level really well but the cornering is like controlling a rollercoaster - at any gain setting. Pete

    Hoverfly 4.8 and AH observation

I don't have the GPS but like Stacky, have a couple of boards. I have found the best option (for me) for AH is to hold an approximate hover for a couple of seconds before engaging AH. Mine goes up and down 1-2M at most which is more than accurate for what I shoot - when shooting solo. 4.8...

Hoverfly Hoverfly Sport - pitch drop-outs

I picked up a 2nd-hand Sport board a month or so back. I tried it in a TBS Discovery-style diy quad and I experienced pitch drops during yawing turns and also when descending. Straight and level - it was great until you start to slow down/descend, then the motors sound like they almost cut...
