    Verticopter

thats what i like to hear - its good to be doing something different :) the top/bottom arms rotate, as FerdinandK said - what is really good, is they rotate in oposite directions, and this helps cancel out and "rocking" motion that you get with a normal bicopter I may split the top shaft...

    Verticopter

Thanks guys, its been a fun build and has a lot more development potential. The yaw is super smooth compared to a quad.

something different, vertical quadcopter (or coaxial bicopter) with some mixing, could be made to fly forward without pitching forward

BICOPTER - weight above pivot design

In the interest of science..... did a back to back comparison of the above vs below strategy i wont say anything (yet) interested to hear all your comments and yes, i put a crash at the start of the vid for those who cant watch to the end :D (damaged the shutter button on the camera ! )

BICOPTER - weight above pivot design

got into a bit of a discussion over at RCG over general bicopter setups the most common is pendulum style, hang the weight below the props, self levels, makes common sense then theres the OAT system (oblique axis tilt) where they use the gyroscopic forces from the motrs for attitude...

Hi, I'm a professional photographer want a multicopter for aerial photography

definately worth some further thought - we could come up with a nice solution, and powering via tether would really reduce the weight, and confirm to all the rule while allowing a versitile flying camera gimbal

Hi, I'm a professional photographer want a multicopter for aerial photography

Without being silly. The us army I think did a tethered multi . Best of both worlds. Fly it as a multi to practice , and tie a fishing line to it when shooting commercially. With auto level it should hold position fairly well Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2

    Tau Labs CC3D release!

thats the problem, its only a CC3d, dosent have navigation software so its relying on the stupid shipping companies to get it right ! It sucks when you are waiting, i remember having a package coming here (New Zealand) which missed by about 2000 kilometers and stayed in Australia for a week

    Show us your FPV Multicopter

I dont do pretty - too impatient, i do "barely functional" heres my FPV quad, its a H quad flipped around, 650 wide (MTM) and 450 long, as pitch instability dosent show up on vid as much as roll, so figured wider is better centre part is an ally tube, that can be adjusted to move the battery...

    Motor wire lengths question?

meh - never had an issue with length, have some i have extended to 600 mm long for trying out experiments. extensions i have done with automotive wire, its better than normal wire in that the insulation is thinner (lower voltage rating/lighter/smaller) and made out of a tougher plastic - very...

    Tau Labs CC3D release!

I am involved in the testing and support side (on a small scale, as time allows), more of the reason for the limited release initially with teh CC boards was component availability, and when we did a huge release (500 boards) the amount of user support required was massive, and swamped the...

    Turnigy 9X - What's the REAL story?

Have 2 9x 'set the moment. One with frsky. Build quality is low. It pays to take the back off and check the solder joints on all the wires to see itches. Give them s gentle tug. Apart from that they have lasted longer than my spectrum dx6i. Very programable which Izmir nice Sent from my...
