I dont know about the rest, but in my case , i have not. the motors are marginal at this weight, so not sure that i could The fronts are running 10 by 3.8 apc's so swapping to some 10 by 4.5 epp's may be worth a go. I think my previous vtail, in my first video, flew faster with less power, i...

    Multirotor Pylon Racing

Cant believe its been two weeks since my last flight - damn weather new vtail built (one im going to use for FPV - no landing gear !) is underpowered for this, throttle was pegged for the run and more than say 30 deg pitch and it would loose height, worse was on the downwind corner (wind was...

    Multirotor Pylon Racing

Sounds good Bart, i just know my eyesite wouldnt work over the 100 meters of a football field (unless i get A into G and hook my FPV ear up), i found the cricket pitch is in my comfort zone, and the continual turning keeps the thumbs active and the speed down looking forward to a...

Sucks about the photo shoot. I actually used the wind to my advantage today, spent a couple of batteries tuning in a new vtail - found that in wind, I actually needed more gain, not less. What's the weight of your quad ? Mine is about 1100 grams ( without go pro) and drawing 130 watts to...

thats a cool retrieval tool, lucky you got both the frame and the camera back ! are you not using roll as well as yaw to turn ? what i do is bank it into the turn, yaw at the same time, that way you keep some speed up thru the turn instead of coming close to a dead stop

    Multirotor Pylon Racing

great stuff pete - getting back to real flying the figure 8 circuit is something everyone should master - its helping me with nose in confidence any chance you could thrash a heli around the same course and get a time ?

    Multirotor Pylon Racing

Great stuff, the times don't matter, its having a go, and honing your skills that counts. For the guys doing it by fpv, I am hoping for a barrel roll during the flight :)

    Multirotor Pylon Racing

@Efliernz - dead keen to come up and fly at YOUR park again :) esp if we can get 3-4 in the air at one time, the figure 8 part may cause mayhem - maybe traveling right fly above 15 feet, traveling left below 20 ft - will make for some awesome onboard vid ! @Jake Bullit - for sure, just try not...

    Overlapping Propeller Designs

no idea on the eficiency, need to test it, but she was hovering at 38% throttle Maiden flight, as usuall windy (need to be up around 5:30 am at the moment for a still day, but the forcast tomorrow looks good) was worried with the increased blade area (over a coaxial) it would get "lifted"...
