I still haven't updated the ESCs yet - but I have the little device to do so. Plan n getting to that, right after..... Too many things! :)

You get used to it. But there's no question it's annoying - especially since you never notice what;s happening until you walk 20 feet away to takeoff, and have to do the whole dance all over again :) Like I said, there is a quick fix if you want to run OPTO escs....but unfortunately it's...

    XAircraft SuperX

To clarify, it's not a matter of sync start-up, but basic recognition on power up. The issue has exhibited as follows: power system with battery, some motors are ready, A couple motors beep (and sometimes twitch a bit). Recycle power. Once you recycle the power (sometimes more than once), and...

Will Drone Racing Fly as a Sport? LA Times

Nice! Looking forward to seeing the progress.

    Kk2.1.5 problem

The link is dead - but I would imagine that you could have done some damage to the board if you plugged over double the voltage. The good news is: they are cheap (comparatively) and you may be safest to replace it, because you don't want to risk running a damaged flight controller.

Will Drone Racing Fly as a Sport? LA Times

I suppose the answer to your thread title could depend on whether your custom frame design gets into the right hands... :)

Tarot 680 Pro integrated PDB failure - major smoke!

In fact, I was told that the printed board in the 680Pro had issues. After having some problems with some ESCs, john over at AddictiveRC mentioned that a few clients of his recognized that the ESCs runs were varying in length, causing some FCs to not recognize the ESC when arming. I never...

How to get a multicopter with a grippper arm?

That place has amazing stuff! Man, it's almost dangerous to the wallet to browse there :)

I can't help with ESCs other than KDE with the KDE motors - but I've been running a full KDE power system and it works. Occasionally there is some flakiness during initial power up - with some motors not recognizing the system, and I need to power cycle which fixes it. Not ideal - but this is a...

    CC3D & ESC setup

If you did the calibration directly from Rx throttle channel - you'd want the trims set to center. You might want to redo that. If you did it with trims down - the calibration would be off. Try doing it again with trims centered, and then when you plug back into the FC, maybe you'll have better...

    CC3D & ESC setup

was the point of the trim down to enable the motors to arm? Also, did you do a calibration for the ESCs while connected directly to the receiver throttle output channel? Or you're doing it from within the flight controller?

Hello and Quanum 680UC Pro Build

Welcome to the forum Richard. There are many options for the frames these days. I'd make sure you check out reviews for people that have built one of these frames and see how they have been received. Some of the cheaper frames with folding mechanisms have proven to flex a bit more than some...

    how to initiate gps flight?

If you have configured 2 switches to work - that's great. You are going to want to test the flight modes on the bench before you fly (props off). Switching the mode switches should show the correct corresponding color on the LED for the mode you want to be in. Turning off the radio should...

How to get a multicopter with a grippper arm?

This would be interesting - but I've never seen one pre-configured with a "gripper arm." That doesn't mean it's not out there. But you may have to design and build it yourself. I would imagine servos could be employed to activate such a device. Not much different than retracts - but with that...

    how to initiate gps flight?

Your radio is really geared toward plane flying - and is not ideal for setting up to work with the Naza. But I believe you should be able to finagle it to work. The flight modes are setup in the Naza assistant with the Naza connected to the computer. You assign the flight mode channel to a...

Tarot 680 Pro integrated PDB failure - major smoke!

I had issues with a HK cheapie PDB as well, long ago. It crashed the MR and for me, that was the end of using their PDBs. I'd make sure you do some research on that new one you plan to use. There are some extra components on there that could cause issues, and make sure you calculate your amp...

    Storm GPS

There is a fail safe setup in both the flight controller and the receiver. For the receiver - check the documentation, and follow the instructions. As @Mike Chevalier mentions - you can set the receiver to default to a set of transmitter commands if/when it loses signal. So switch and sticks...

    apm brownout help

Specifics will definitely help here. Which landing gear are you using? Which APM? And which power module? When you say the gimbal is before the power module, what exactly do you mean? I know the APM can be temperamental with power - so let's make sure you have everything wired correctly and...

    XAircraft SuperX

When I built the 680Pro I felt the same way. Some things seemed very well thought out and helpful, others seemed to be short-sighted designs. Many people run the Y harness for dual batteries, so you may be fine if you make sure the AWG doesn't cause too much of a bottleneck. Or just run the...
