That would make sense, Elliott. Check out the true magnetic north for your location. A small clockwise rotation of the GPS sounds right for you, probably the same amount counter clockwise for me should do the same thing. BTW.. my imu z axis is more or less 0 to begin with, so not much I can do...

Hey Soundmind, I did try to offset the GPS, but I went in the opposite direction (clockwise). Thinking back now, it did seem that the problem got a little worse when I tried that, so your recommendation might have some legs. I'll give that a try today when I get home from work.

Hahah, jforkner, I was just about to post the same link. I set one of those up for my camera person and it works great, especially for the price! Like most monitors, you will have to put it in some kind of hood, but that's to be expected.

You have to be on XAircrafts payroll. I know they pay off several people over at RCGroups to write favorable reviews. Of the 100's (if not 1000's) of people that I have seen testing the V1 GPS, only one ever got it working, and that didn't last more than a few weeks. XA doesn't even support it...

I think the idea is to use it with the map to plot out way points more so than to use the keyboard to fly it. Keyboard alone as controller would be a big step back from the radios we use now, IMHO.

The size is oddball, something like 8.18mm. I've put regular apc's on mine before. You ream them to 8mm first, then open them up just a bit more by hand with sandpaper or a fine file. worked great for me.

Yuri, I think you are absolutely correct. This is a terrible career path. Don't stop that CNC from cutting! Do it for fun, or because it's a challenge, but not because you expect to turn a coin. You will only be disappointed in the end if you do.
