Here are a few shots I got this weekend in Philadelphia.

Here is my build all wrapped up. I designed boom extensions that convert this to an F650. They were made from 3mm carbon fiber, and of course I'm using the AeroXCraft landing gear with my own tweaked gimbal.

It looks like they got confused with the orientation. It was nose in and they started backing it up instead of bringing it forward towards them. Doh!

You can also tell by how poorly it flies! They need to upgrade to the new DJI Wookitty controllers! (I had to go there) -Terry

I know for sure that my tx has never been powered up without an antenna, but I'm suspect of both of my rx's. One is built into a set of FatShark goggles and the other is a standalone. I really don't want to buy another one though just to test that theory. Is there another way to figure it out...

kloner, the problem with hooking up the vtx without an antenna.. does that also apply to the rx? Just wondering if that could be lending into my problem. I'm seriously stumped about why I get SUCH bad reception that is no where close to the claims of the maker.

LED's are LED's. There is nothing special about the the XA set that you saw online. Put power to them and they work.

I'd bet decent money this will cause DJI to drop the price of the s800. Just look at what they did to their F series frames. They cut those prices by more than 50% to stay competitive with the clones. Now the question is, who is going to be the first to buy one and test it out. ;-)
