    Corn Maze Aerial

One of my real estate clients had a strange request this week, and it turned out to be a ton of fun. He has a church group that builds a corn maze for local children for the last 2 years now. This year is the 200th anniversary of the war of 1812 here in Baltimore, so the maze was in honor of...

Help with Building a CineStar 8 (& Copters in General)

The number one bit of advice that I, or probably anyone on this forum, can give you is to learn to walk before you run. Buy yourself a cheap little RC heli/quad and learn to fly before you even think about putting a CS8 into the air. With out learning the very basics of RC flight, the best gear...

Sony Action Cam w/ WiFi - GoPro killer?

I saw that, but those are two completely different classes of camera. $650 for just the body of the 5r and $270 for everything with the Action Cam.

    Ground Station/Transmitter Tray Question

I thought about that, but still didn't see the point in going any further down that road. I much more prefer to have my FPV gear on a tripod.

Sony Action Cam w/ WiFi - GoPro killer?

I don't know if any of you have seen this yet, but Sony is jumping head first into the action sports camera arena. Their first set of offerings include 2 versions of the same camera, one with built in wifi and the second without. The non-wifi model starts at $199 with the wifi enabled version...

    Ground Station/Transmitter Tray Question

I made my own version of this late last year. Mine was very minimal and consisted of just a mount (GoPro actually) directly on my radio that held my monitor. I then had the vtx and battery mounted on the back of that. I found that even with that super light set up, it was to much weight to carry...

Which lens for a NEX 5N?

This is the first time I've had a camera that does panoramic shots though. I've been having fun in the office during lunch today. It's easy when you have a chair that spins. :tennis:

Which lens for a NEX 5N?

I already have the camera, just trying to grab a new lens for it. I ended up ordering the 16mm from Amazon. When I got the my local BB, they didn't have them in stock.

Your thoughts about the mW output power

Jesse, make sure you NEVER power up your vtx without the antenna attached. If so, it's blown the power amp inside and you will lose most of your mW, even if it's only for a split second.

Looking for a builder in Los Angeles

Looks like they just announced this today. Pretty cool actually. Even if you get someone else to do your build, you might want to grab a copy of this so you can maintain it yourself. http://www.quadrocopter.com/Cinestar-6-8-Build-Guide-DVD-Download_p_619.html

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Great minds think alike. I use the same tactics. She can't complain when she has some new goodies as well. ;-)

Which lens for a NEX 5N?

It looks like my local Best Buy has one in stock, so I might pick it up on my lunch break today. Without using a lens adaptor, I don't really see any other option. Is this the lens that most folks are flying with these days? Seems to fit the bill in terms of weight and FOV. -Terry

Which lens for a NEX 5N?

I was just wondering what lens you NEX users have on your camera for AP? I'm thinking about the 16 mm pancake and then adding the UWA adapter for shots on the ground. Anyone have any input on the topic? -Terry

Looking for a builder in Los Angeles

Unless you are using MK electronics, you should try to build it yourself. The level of understanding that you will possess after you finish will help tons when it's time to send it up into the air. It's also nice to be able to troubleshoot your own problems when they arise.

    Infinite rotation servos

Sorry for the off topic post, but I know someone here will be able to answer this question. How do Infinite rotation servos work in relation to speed? With a traditional servo, if I move the stick 25%, the servo moves a something close to that. Do infinite rotations just adjust the speed...

PH Hero 3000 gimbal "caught on film"!

Man, that thing is a MONSTER! That DSLR looks tiny on there. I hadn't realized the gimbal would be that large. Honestly, it makes the Zenmuse seem that much more appealing to me since it's fitted to the cameras it carries so much more. I suppose you can carry a larger camera with this, like a...

XAircraft X650 - Not impressed with the screw quality!

That's because you are using the wrong screws. You want the smaller ones for the motor mounts. Read the manual very carefully. They look almost the same, but just slightly different. It looks like you are putting the 2mm hex head screws into the 1.5mm hex holes. I've taken mine apart and...
