    LIPO voltages

My Taranis calls out the lowest per cell voltage to my from my TX currently. I should probably set it to 3.6 instead of 3.7, since as soon as 3.79 hits it says 3.7...

    LIPO voltages

That's pretty cool. I have an FrSky voltage telemetry device and also a FrSky telemetry GPS, but the GPS has never worked.

    LIPO voltages

Yes I do get that. So I'm trying to figure the proper landing voltage for my rig. What you're saying is that you're looking for a 7.5 volt at rest voltage after the battery has recovered. That could mean an under load voltage may be 3.7 or less, or I'd have to just experiment with my setup is...

    LIPO voltages

I'm receiving telemetry in the form of total voltage, as well as the lowest per-cell voltage. Am I simply guessing as to when 80% is, or calculating 80% of the starting 4.2 volts per cell or 80% of 22.2 volts?

    LIPO voltages

So when I'm landing it is often around 3.75 volts and after powering down the hexa it will often end up in the upper 3.7's to 3.8. So I could go longer? What about only putting back in 2700? 80% of 5000 is 4000. It would seem I'm being overly conservative?

    Two 5,000 6S or one 10,000?

I've got a Zhaoyun Gimbal and NEX5 with the bigger 16-50mm lens. I may be landing a bit early. As soon as I hear 3.7 volts on a cell I land. In actuality it is up at 3.75 and when at rest goes back up to 3.8. Motors are Tarot 5008/340kv.

This is what can happen if your not careful.

My gawd. That's brutal. He even had prop guards on. This makes me very weary of getting anywhere NEAR my heavy lifter hexa with 17.5 inch CF blades.

    Two 5,000 6S or one 10,000?

Well, I consider my machine a serious machine. I know the amount of cash and time I've spent on it is serious. Thanks kloner. Also thanks to benjamin Kenobi. Sounds like I'm going with duals. dazzb I do have a SuperX on board, but don't have the OSD. I DO have voltage telemetry going...

    XAircraft SuperX

Wow that's a real bummer. I'm happy to have mine and my service was great by Drew months ago. BUT a recent email went unanswered. I'm thrilled with my SuperX. Fly it nearly every day on my large hex and very happy with it.

    Two 5,000 6S or one 10,000?

Thanks kloner. My voltage meter which reads individual cells attaches to the balance port, so thus one battery. I do have an FrSky voltage monitor I can put inline, but it would give me overall voltage, not per-cell. So yeah, weight. Just did some checking on that. The 10,000mAh version of...

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Friends if you get a chance check this question I asked about dual versus single batteries: http://www.multirotorforums.com/showthread.php?21505-Two-5-000-6S-or-one-10-000&p=178844#post178844

    Two 5,000 6S or one 10,000?

Okay so my hexacopter is built and flying well. To date I've only had one set of dual 5000mAh 6S batteries. I'm getting about 10 minutes of flight time and landing very conservatively at 3.75 volts per cell or more. That's great, but after 10 minutes I'm done until I can go charge my two...

XAircraft What do you make of this blip in my log?

Thanks kloner. Think it could be a quick short between the RX and the SuperX? Never had this blip before so being cautious.

XAircraft What do you make of this blip in my log?

Did a flight this evening to test out my first remote triggering of still images on the NEX. I decided to go straight up to a high level to shoot the images. In examining my log after the flight I see a blip where I went into safe mode for maybe 1-2 seconds. I'm fairly sure I didn't hit safe...

Yeah tuning the gimbal can be a total PITA. Lots of trial and error.

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Thanks. Need to lower gimbal in order to reduce the amount of video where the arms or props show up. Hope that doesn't mess the whole setup up! You know it will... Just got my shutter release trigger too, so I can manually (or hopefully automate with the taranis) shoot photos also.

Sure. How does next week sound? :nevreness: Here's a test video. No post stabilization or any kind of tweaks to the video.

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Okay I've just done a flight this evening after fixing arm #5 and putting the thing back together. The first bit of good news is that the thing flies. Second, and I'm completely THRILLED, is that my vibrations are far lower than they have ever been. MAX vibe on a couple of spikes tonight was...

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Haha. T960 here. So question... now that a bit of my bird is torn apart and the FC removed for a bit, should I consider some vibration dampening on the FC mount? Previously it has been on a piece of lexan which has been DS taped to the frame.

XAircraft Where should I mount the SuperX?!

I've never seen anyone mount an FC down there. My instinct tells me that is not a good option. I'd go with your first photo first, then your second option.
