That seems to be what is happening Peter. Assistant shows the values changing rapidly, but in flight, there is no visual change in behaviour at all ?
Anyone got any ideas why this is happening ?
Ian
I set my Hex up so that my X1 channel controlled the gains on Attitude gain. It gives me a range from 66% to 266%. I test flew this yesterday and slowly changed the gain from top to bottom, and basically saw no differences at all in behaviour.
Do you have to reinitialize between changes ...
Does anyone out there know if the above is possible ?
I am flying a 550 hex using a good 3000Mah 14.8v lipo, but only get around 5 minutes max. My reading on the web tells me that is a much better idea to have the ESC set to think they are sensing Nicad rather than Lipo so you do not get these...
Interesting comments - thanks
I am a little confused as to how to get the aileron centered ? I have them set at +/- 100% and cannot use sub trims or normal trims, or it will not initialize, I get constant flickering yellow of the MU when I do this. How can I center an axis that does not...
Hi
I have finally managed to get my recalcitrant Flamewheel 550 into the air, and even setup the GPS in the middle of a pretty windy field this afternoon. So far, great !!
My Go Pro video was really wavy, so came home to work on the mount, and then flew it in a calmer area later this...
Ain't that just the truth though Ben ! I am really glad that it is in the air - finally, and am just popping on 4 spare DJI Opto ESC's I have lying around from my original 450. Hopefully they will give me a much cleaner initialization.
Thanks again for you help - much appreciated. :-)
Ian
This sounds horribly like the problems I just went through on a 550 (see thread in this forum)
I eventually overcame it all by setting the throttle trim lever FULLY DOWN and then doing the ESC end point setup with
max -> min throttle on startup.
Worked for me - maybe you have fell into this...
Hi Ben
I understand (per se) the reason for using Optos, but it doesn't change the fact that they have to be initialized, but my real question is, how does everyone else do just that for 6 motors.
Assistant is showing the throttle is working in the correct direction, and is centered at mid...
Sorry, but yet another possibly dumb question, but one that is giving me endless grief right now...
I have a set of almost identical (but not quite the same) Hobbywing 40 ESC's feeding 4 identical motors and 2 different but same spec motors ( I know it ain't ideal, but I just wanna get this...
Hi
I am not an electrician, but I do know that feeding 2 different positive voltages into a single unit via different input ports is NOT a good idea. Common ground is fine (AFAIK), so each module can ground whatever voltage it is using to the common ground, but a single module should not have...
As stitch1615 says, the manufacturers really should document this issue. It clearly varies in importance depending on whether you use normal or Opto ESC's. As I understand it, and by their very name, Opto's do NOT pass the power through their interface (hence Opto), so it does not really...
Thanks for all the feedback guys, it seems that the word on the street is it probably doesn't matter either way, but certainly with the red DISCONNECTED, NAZA MRC's fly just fine, so that is the route I am about to wire it up as :-)
I am setting the ESC's independently by plugging the motor...
Hi
I have been researching all sorts of stuff to try to get my new 550 into the air. One question that seems to be a very grey area, but nevertheless is highlighted as being "important" is the question of whether the red lead on the lead from the Rx to the Naza should be cut/removed at one...
