We did the music too, so I think it may have been a combination of not being decisive / brutal enough when deciding which shots made it to the edit, and wanting to keep the entire piece of music intact.
We recently flew at Wightwick Manor. We contacted the guys at the manor rather than the trust itself, and they OK'd it all. Hillsides and cliffs may be a different matter though as you won't have people on site to contact.
I'd say just contact the trust, make it clear that your not just any old...

I have been gaining permission to fly when ever I'm within 2nm of an airfield or more if it's a large airport. Never had any issues with ATC and they've generally been quite accommodating.

I believe there is a new Bluetooth module (BTU) that plugs into the GCS module that would normally plug into your laptop. The BTU just acts as a wireless connection so that you don't have to wonder around with the GCS module plugged & gaffa taped to the back of your ipad.
