been flying (well, avoiding the ground) for 14 months now, and finally in the last few weeks have actually attempted to take some photos (the photo higher gimbal giveaway set me off)

The only camera I am using is a gorpro hero hd (series one) and have gotten used to the wide angle, as it allows one to get a useable shot, i dont use a down link so its all guesswork at this stage :)

also recently, i managed to get permission from one of the oil and gas plants that i work at (as a contractor) to film where-ever i like outside of the restricted areas. so now i get to fly at work ! managed 6 flights last week

the best move i ever made it to stop building for other people, now the flying time i get is for me, and not test flying !

heres a couple of shots from the weekend that came out quite nice, both the original file, and the cropped shot (still learning about composition), will definately move to the higher MP gopro or equivalent to give me more option with image editing.

ashamed to say the coolest shot happened when the tricopter was parked on the paving stones !

Bloody hell!!!! 50 mtrs & Im confused ;) ;) Good shooting. do you have your clover leaf mounted below or above the arms? Its certainly workingn well if your flying FPV at that height. I really must kick my butt to get out with mine now...too busy flying my F16 today ;)

I was wondering why my photos look worse when I put them up on the forums, so I inspected them after I uploaded and the forum actually halves them in size...I thought my eyes were deceiving me!

Hey Dave what sort of heights / distances were you getting with your fpv setup as the shots seem to be from a good altitude? maybe some more detailed shots of the crap factory will satisfy jake!:shame:

I was at 100m with full and VERY clear video down link. I do not have OSD so not sure of actual range but guessing about 320m in total.

its just wrong on so many levels!
@ dave Are you running clover leaf antennas? we have a 3 leaf on the Tx (100Mw) but if we put the 4 leaf any of the receiver aerials it won't pick up a thing. running a patch & omni works fine though. We did hear that the aerials may be tuned to a certain channel put trying all of the available ones on the yellow jacket has proved unsuccessful. Any ideas?

To be honest I took the easy route and just bought a full kit from First Person View.. tried and tested. I am just running the rubber duck type antenna seems fine.

I have spent to long faffing around with these things so I tend to go with what is proved to work.. cost more but much less stress!

I am flying to position LOS and then in GPS mode sitting down putting o the gigs and then framing the shot.. I have a Lilliput monitor on the way so I have to option and the clients can have a good view of what they are getting

Hi Lec I run on Cloverleaf and Skew planer and its awesome , much better than the omni . I have not yet tried a patch Receiver with a cloverleaf Tx so cant comment on how they work .. But if anyone knows let me know :)
