Well I have had precious few hours to play, but progress has been made.
I have ben time-lapseing the build for a bit of fun (part 1 - Landing gear should be out tomorrow). I decided that I would just document in detail any tricky bits (like for example the orientation of the quick release clips on the landing gear/main module) But for the most part I am really impressed with the kit from DW and the manufacturing tolerances are brilliant.
I was a bit scared when bending the carbon sheet that fills the gap in the landing gear - but it all ended happily :)

A few pics then before the videos are done...
Note that Pic 1 shows the wrong positioning of the quick release vs pic 5 (note the plastic clip obscuring part of the third series of holes) Also note the two different length stainless steel bolts when assembling the centre plates.

Looks great.
Hint: remove the bolt that secures the boom clamp close to the centre when putting in the motor wires. It's gets in the way. Then put it back in once through. It's will save you a good half hour I reckon.

It's been a busy week, but I have got a bunch of bits built (and time-lapsed for later amusement ).
Just been working through the motor assembly this evening... struggling a bit (sorry DW but this bit in your assembly manual could use some work).
I *think* I have it sussed - but I still have a mystery 1mm o-ring that doesn't have a home yet...
Anyway, motors all mounted on their plates and first pair test fitted (several times before giving up for the night)

And thanks Nic, taking the bolt out of the end of the boom made it heaps easier :)

BTW does the motor boot just "float" between the two rubber grommets on the M3 bolts or have I stuffed that bit up too?

Oh, and maybe this is one section where some detailed drawings would be better than photos...

After a bit of head-scratching (and some advice from the MR denizens) I decided to solder the motor wires directly to the ESCs. This has made for a neater rat's nest with fewer connections to go wrong (I hope).

For sure! I had to play about with spacers to mount the next layer of the cake though - it's starting to come together nicely now.
Might try to get my head around the SkyLine next...
