CineStar 6 with GH2. I was just doing a morning test flight and didnt bother turning the gimbal on. I had no idea it would be so beautiful above the fog!

Awesome Tabb , the GH2 is on my shopping list .. Have you done the Hack or is it stock ?

I agree with Dave, the boom was a bit obtrusive. Couldn't you configure your Hex as a "X" to make the boom less obtrusive?

The hexa is self-made and when I made it, a year ago, the arducopter software didn't have the X option for hexa yet. So I designed it +. Wouldn't be too much work to reconfigure it as X, but I'm kinda waiting on a crash to actually do it. I think camera will have to be moved lower too.
The gimbal is also own design and make. Nothing special though, just a few bits of plywood, composite and 2 cheap hobbyking digital servo's. It works pretty good when flying (big stabilisation corrections needed), but when hoovering (small corrections needed) it sometimes tends to shiver a bit, like servo resolution isn't sufficient.

Ow and I have a battery alarm, Dave : leds start blinking on the arms... But the sun was rather bright that day, and me so excited about testing the arducopter software, that I didn't notice the leds :x

PS. those are some mighty nice video's inhere. I'm learning :)

I finally got a little time in with the sport quad this weekend. We just moved and this is my new flying field. I'm happy to finally have a garage to work on things, and a nice field close to the house.

Ok my first video :)


Most of the videos are with my old mount. Will make another video with the new mount in the coming days. The problem is, here is always windy and rainy!

I just made an important discovery... the new field I have been flying in has stadium lighting in the evenings when no one is using the field. NIGHT FLIGHT!
