Eagletree data update:

10" props, 4s 5000mah pack 42.1max amps I can pull.

Had to lower basic gains going from 8" to 10" props. Just flying in Attitude mode and doing full hard climb outs.

Think I like the 8" props flight characteristics better. Will see after I do a few more flights with the 10" thou.

So when will this be available world wide...?

Seems really strange that UK/EU dealers dont have any knowledge of this frames availability.....

I know one is coming out soon , but I havent been sent one to play with ... Maybe mine is in the post ;)
Frame looks pretty similar to Xaircraft Hexa frame and I can confirm it flies much better with 8" props and 4s Set up than 10" on a 3S .

Can either an F-450 or an F-550 lift a payload of 400-500 grams? The DJI specs give frame weight and sugg. takeoff weight but I'm a newb and don't have an idea of the typical weight of batteries, motors, etc would be. I'm trying to see what kind of effective payloads (camera & mount) each ship could carry.
Thanks

I would think the F550 Hexa (and the F450 Quad for that matter) can carry 500g no problem. I'm liking the Hexa a lot right now because of how more stable it its.

I'll get some flights with payload and record the data and see what we are pulling for amps and Mah per minute etc.

Can one of you shed some light on what this frame will be ? Since it seems to have the DJI signature ? Not for the hobby sector anymore or concept for some more payload ?

Yes, I've already done this on my F450. This setup weighs about 4-1/2 pounds (2.1kg...) has the stock DJI 920kV motors, two 4s-2600 packs and Graupner 11x5 props. I can fly for about 12 minutes and the motors are barely above ambient. I also had no problem lifting around 6 pounds with my XA hexa, which is the same size as the DJI F550 hex. Anyway, my F450 has a "robust" 2-axis gimbal, and a GoPro2 in the waterproof case.

I think this will end up being part of some sort of "pro" line, maybe to be used with the new gimbal? I'm not sure why all the quick-release features, though. Maybe to make it easier to transport, but I'm not sure how that would work with motors, ESCs, WK-M bits and a gimbal. Anyway, it looks a lot bigger than F550, for sure. One of the screen titles called it an S800, and it certainly looks like it could have an 800mm "wingspan".

I wonder what the strategy is behind it to keep these infos hidden/or not communicated to the non asian world. I always have the feeling i do something forbidden posting infos pics or vids about the pro product line stuff. Wouldnt it make sense to inform the US and EU market the same way. In that way you keep some customers safing their money and waiting for the products instead of buying something else before that might not full fill their needs 100% like a DJI frame build for the WKM.

I think they have been waiting to release all the new line of products at the Nuremburg Toy Fair this year.

All I know is its going to be a great year with all the new DJI products coming.

The S800 and the Zenmuse gimbal have me so excited. When FedEx shows up with those (someday) I'm locking myself in the shop for a couple of days. :)

oohh dji caps, nicey

anyone notice the pancake motors and fancy props on that hexa frame?

I'm also betting a pound to a pinch of pup that the new super gimbal is going to require that frame and I bet it's not pocket money prices.

Went back to the 8" props on the F550 Hexa. Fly's much better and is more efficient.

Don't have pricing but we should have stock by 1st week of Feb. its looking now. :livid:

Hooked up some LED's and doing some night flying. Cold but fun.

I finally got my DJI F550 hex together, and installed the WK-M on it, which came off my XA hexa setup. All I need to do is throw on some props, and it'll be ready for a test flight.

Andrey shipped me the first landing gear/NEX gimbal assembly today. If the planets align, I might get this by Saturday, which means I might have it flying by Sunday. :)

Got the gimbal/LG/battery plate assembly together, and installed underneath the F550 hex frame. I think this is going to be my favorite setup, as everything is very robust. :)

I still need to do a few things, like program the servos, add some pool noodles to the skids, put on props, and then start tuning everything. Hopefully, the first flight will be tomorrow.
