Can you fit a Gaui Crane3 gimbal to a F550/F450??

I have fitted the Crane II, here is what I did

1) you need shorter connector rods
2) you prob don't want to drill into bottom board because it may short out the bottom board

When I get home tonight I can tell you where I got the connector rods
Instead of drilling holes I used a thin piece of fiberglass board and 3M tape to secure it to the bottom

Here is what it looks like with the Crane II

Bit of warning, replace your props with Graupner props or it wont be shinny once your stock props break and they will

Hi,
I've just put my order in for a brand spanking new F550 and have been going goggle-eyed reading reviews, comments, opinion and reviews on camera gimbals for a super steady GoPro Hero2 which isn't the dji Zenmuse Z15.
The current top of the heap, from my research, is the Gaui Crane 3 gimbal:

Has anyone fitted this Gaui gimbal to a F550, or a F450?

That'd be great, thanks, and I've just placed an order for Graupner props :)

I watched one of your your other videos on your YouTube channel, I think it was called Dawn (and something to do with stabilizing), was this shot with the Crane 2?
I noticed the 'jelly' effect, have you eliminated it, if so how?
I'm only just getting in to Hexacopters and it's this 'fine-tuning' which has me a little concerned - balancing the props, grommets to reduce vibration etc..

I think the jelly effect was iMovie stabilization but not really sure as I have not had a lot of time to spend on it. As for balancing the props, I never did. Have you gotten the spacers for the Graupner? There a must.

that's crazy how built up those houses are with all the water around. you guys get alot of gators?

The jello is from the cmos sensor int he gopro being so sensitive to vibes. You want a bed od dampening under the cam, preferably something really, really soft. silicone works well, like face mask type. Earplugs like foam roll em up type. there is a real product at https://vibrationmounts.com/eStore/...th=http://vibrationmounts.com/RFQ/VM08009.htm

makes this

and the foam plugs do this
you can hear how out of balance those props were,,,,,,, no jello in 1080p in a gopro with the polar filter

Gencode,
I see in the video you are running the stock DJI Motors.
Can you please answer some questions?
Do you know the overall weight with camera & gimbal you are running?
I also assume you are running 10" graupners?
What battery are you using? 3S, 4S, Mah?
I am at 2500 grams total.....including battery, camera & gimbal. I am considering upgrading the motors as I think I am pushing the limits.
It flys and handles very well, but I notice the motors are considerably warmer...near hot after a 8-10 min flight...Without camera & gimbal they were not even warm.

Hey Kloner,
Love the 'TBS Discovery Maiden' video, really smooth, that's exactly what I'm hoping to achieve..hopefully. Where was it shot, the scenery looks stunning...don't really get anything like that here in the UK :)
I've read elsewhere about dampening the camera using earplugs (which as fortune would have it I already have plenty of) works well. When you say 'face mask' do you have a link to one? My google searching is throwing up silicone oxygen masks...
I also need to find a product similar to the vibrationmounts link you posted in the UK...which isn't easy.

Thanks for this Gencode, appreciate it. I just need to see if they either ship to the UK or if I can find something similar online.

Could I ask a question, how did you fix the rods to the F550 frame?
I don't want to drill any holes in the plates for obvious reasons...

Mmurfitt, Have you seen the new Aeroxcraft XT125 Gimbal? very similar price but a bit heavier, looks like a solid mount.
thundead is showing some pretty smooth footage from it using a gopro.
