hands down no questions asked, this is the est one money buys. you can fly way past what you'd ever be able to do LOS, it flies into the sun as well as away from it during dawn/dusk and mid day you can pickout more stuff than with any other cam.

http://www.securitycamera2000.com/p...F-Sensor-Chip-OSD-Camera-2.8mm-Wide-View.html

I've got 8 of them installed and they all work as well as the last

If your just getting going the monitor is alot easier to progress faster than with the goggles. those tend to make it alot more exciting but it's hard to learn with IMO...... a good 8" monitor is less than $100, can see anything you'd ever need to and can be mounted on a tripod or on your transmitter. 10" gets to be big, 7" is on the smaller side of what works for me.

Awesome thank Kloner.
And what about that setup i have? Is that good enough and also all will work?
What about the camera connectors, will it match the TX?

yea, the 5.8 immersion with either set of antennas is good stuff. if your not running 3s that camera i mentioned would need a voltage regulator. We use something called dollar regulators for stuff like this

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...er+Step+Down+Module+LM2596&_sacat=0&_from=R40

no you will be soldering some wires. plan getting some 1/8" heat shrink, solder, and a little time to sort out what to use and not use. the quality of the picture over plug and play cameras for that unit is worth the time spent. the camera comes with a cable you cn cut apart and graft to the immersion wire set

The TX will be on 4-6s, so i will need that? or can i power it from a different lipo pack?
how do i find out the wireing schematics for that camera?

yes, you'd want to use the 4-6s power so get a few of them regulators. takes a week to get em, best investment you'll make, along with that camera. There is a post here from security cam 2000 that has the owner attached to it and he's posted the pinout for the pixim board cams several times, sure he'd do it again..... if nothing else, i can get a picture and explain it to ya. theres 3 wires, 12v power, ground and analog signal.......

the fisheye isn't the problem, these security cams do too. it's the dynamic range of the hero that's super limited. with a hero you can't see much after the sun goes down, a security camera can see in the moonlight. Turns black and white.

this is a nex and a pixim seawolf. See how the ground is showing up in the little picture but not the nex much at the begining..... i bailed the first 5-10 minutes off the flight, shoulda left more of the black and white mode to see the differences

Great video, do you have an schematics for the fpv set up that you are using? What type of mount or enclosure are you using for the camera?

they just sit there open case style.... i run welders glue over the open components and hope for the best. I've killed 2 cameras in a year all from crashing. i've put em in water twice and that didn't phase em

That's a problem... it's ruby on a wing

I've run eagle tree stuff, decent but bulky. Trappy's core osd is pretty decent for a multi, but the current sensor kinda sucks and the lack of space to work with solder on the core is a *****. I went to all DJI osd and flight controllers on everything MR

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
kloner, ever run two of those dollar regulators in parallel to back each other up?

Aerial DP
no i haven't.... wouldn't that be like using multiple bec from esc's? that'd make me nervous..... i've never lost the buck regulator, but i've lost an lc filter mid flight, that didn't fair very well...... about 4k......

kloner, I'm about to buy myself one of these that you recommended. Have you wired it from the DJI iOSD? From the photo you posted, it looks like you are using the iOSD. Can I run the voltage output to the camera? The iOSD documentation says that the output is 11.2V, but the camera doesn't give an input range, just says "12V". Will the 11.2V be alright for it? Also, I take it the camera is <1A which is the iOSD current output. True?

i run one on my jib and on our 800 with iosd and they both work but i got the buck converter on the rig, it powers this and the lawmate transmitters perfectly, no heat, little failures

I though the dji iosd passed through the battery voltage? 11.2 would be fine if it does that...

The doc says it passes it through if its a 3S battery, and that otherwise it outputs 11.2V. On my 450 and 550 won't be a prob. On the S800 I run 6S, which is why I asked. I figured the 11.2 should be fine, but just thought I would ask. Thx!

Is this the same camera but with a case?

I was thinking the one with the case would be better as i can mount it on an angle. But is there a reason you like the open board version more?

SecurityCamera2000 just called me back and stated it is the same camera with the black housing. Thanks for pointing that out. I have asked them to send me one in the housing.
Kloner, can you tell us why you preferred the open board version?

this is a helpful thread. im considering getting into FPV for one of my kids actually. its a long story, but he has ADHD pretty bad and he gets very obsessive about things. One in particular is flying, he is alwyas trying to come up with ayws to fly, whether its with ballons or kites or whatever he finds lying around the house. its cutre and annoying at the same time. When i got my F450 flying recently, i saw some of these posts and realized that i might be able to help my son feel like he's flying by getting some FPV goggles and letting him wear them while i fly around. im curious to know if any of the package deals of fatshark gear are good quality enough where i'd be satisfied for a while, or would i be quickly looking for a better camera or longer range etc etc. so firstly, is this security camera easy to hook up to say the Fatshark predator system or the immersion 5.8? would i be better off going with the immersion 5.8 600mw, this camera, and then a set of fatshark goggles? any help or guidance is appreciated. im not looking to go miles away or anything too technical, at least not yet.
the only thing i was dreaming of having at some point was the ability to trigger still pictures while wearing the goggles. i have some business ideas for using the quad and goggles and the ability to take stills of what you are looking at would be a great feature...is there equipment out there that can do this?

should have put in my quad specs
DJI F450, E300 power, Naza Mv2, DJI BTU, DJI d-bus tx/rx, mostly 3s batteries but 1 4s.
