LinuxDrone Project LinuxDrone? What is it all about?

This is very cool. I don't have a whole lot of spare time to explore projects, but over the last year I've experimented with two multicopter things: An embedded web based GCS and a ground station based OSD. I've always thought having a separate GCS made development and use harder than it...

    Best alternative to Naza? Arducopter?

Does the team have a target date for their first release that will fly a quad?

    Best alternative to Naza? Arducopter?

Don't forget, if you hope to fly FPV there's plenty of opportunity for creativity and building there. I've spent a surprising amount of time planning and building the video and telemetry on my craft.

    Show us what you shot.

Hehe, thanks! I had about 90 minutes of video that I edited down to those couple of minutes - you should see the wobbles and jello in the other 95%! I used mostly 1080-30 and 960-30. I probably should have used some more 960-48 and will be doing that in the future. I also just updated to the...

    Show us what you shot.

Winery & Vineyards I spent the month of October working at a friend's winery. Here are two videos I made there using: GoPro Hero2 QAV-500 Naza with GPS FPVManuals FM4008 620kv motors APC 10x4.7 ReadyMadeRC 1.3 gHz setup This is my first serious attempt at doing AV. As you can see, I...

    Best alternative to Naza? Arducopter?

Thank you for the offer/request/suggestion, but I'll stick with my original offer. Much less stress, much less drama.

    Best alternative to Naza? Arducopter?

I don't want to be super negative in a public forum, but if anyone wants to know about some less than stellar experiences with APM, please PM me.

Naza GPS RTH from a lower altitude then Home

I did this just a week ago. The Naza will always take the craft 20m above the take-off altitude. It doesn't matter what altitude it's at when RTH is turned on, it will always go to home altitude + 20m before returning to the home location.

    Engineering Comparison of Hobby ESCs

Yes, those are good, I have used them. But I'm more curious about the quality of ESCs being improved or not by flashing. Starting with an ESC that's already running well isn't a real good test of flashing.

    Engineering Comparison of Hobby ESCs

Thanks! Here's the link: http://www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo=goods_details.dwt&goodsid=148 I bought several about a month ago and flashed them. Before flashing they made horrible clicking noises, afterwards they sounded much less destructive. I'm curios as to whether the improvements were...

    Engineering Comparison of Hobby ESCs

Any chance you could run the measurement with the RCTimer before and after the SimonK flash to compare the difference?

    Official NAZA GPS thread

Heat shrink tubes are your friends. The holes in the supplied mounts are filled with foam. In a crash it will just bend over, not break. Only problem is my GPS doesn't work. But has a great mount job!

    Compass-err

I'm getting the same error after adding a brand new GPS to my Naza. No matter what I do, I can't get rid of the fast red LEDs and "COMPASS-ERR" in the Assistant. I've also never been able to successfully calibrate the compass. I bought it from DJI USA and reported the problem to them on the...

    DJI Naza GPS Pricinig

Anyone else get a shipping notice yet? I've had one on order from UAVProducts as well and no word. No reply to e-mails asking about it either :upset:. Yes, I know. I need to learn to be more patient.

    DJI Naza sub trim

I'm convinced the Naza learns or at least tweaks its internal calibrations during flight. It's interesting to change props on a Naza rig. The first minute or so with new props can be kind of squirrelly, but it firms up pretty quickly. I often see similar behavior when taking off from a slope...

    Power distribution boards, ratings question

Wow, that's super nice of you to offer that. I may contact you with some drawings. I wonder if I can I convert Illustrator to AutoCad? Does anyone know of a good way to bond copper to G10?

    Naza and SBUS/D-Bus

I fly my Naza with a Spektrum DX7s and recently purchased an Orange R710 receiver from HobbyKing to use with it. I noticed that the receiver had an output for SBUS, so thinking that might be nice, I hooked it up to the X2, SBUS/D-Bus input. In the Assistant I chose D-Bus and sure enough I had...
