Two clients want me to fly their RED EPIC cameras - advice?

I should change the title to THREE clients now. People want me to fly their Epic. I've got to find some motors that are appropriate for the job. Recommendations?

    Flying over a lake...

My camera op sets the focus with manual focus, usually at infinity, but that can change depending on the shot. For most shoots, the shots are planned most of the time. In this particular video, we had to come up with some shots mid-flight. We try to avoid any sort of automatic settings on a...

New Equipment is Here (Cinestar 8 + HFP + 3xproV2)

To level my motors, I took off the landing gear / gimbal and put the Cinestar on a large flat surface with the arms a bit loose so I could make sure that all the motor mounts were flat to the surface they were sitting on. Then I tightened each one up. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks, PaNt. Glad you like the videos. DennyR, we haven't fully used the gimbal board on a shoot yet. We've been flying without gimbal stabilization, other than my camera op doing his best to keep the camera pointed in the right direction. Folks seem to be pretty happy with the results. I...

Clint, Have you tried the throttle curves? They work great. Also, I'm a big fan of the 8FG super - we have 2.

The Hoverfly Pro flies great. The gimbal board is getting there - should be really good soon - we've seen the potential. We drove down to the Hoverfly HQ so they could run some tests with our gimbal. They're working on an update that will take the little wobbles out.

    Cinestar 6 + YS-X6 flight controller

On the bleeding edge with the scars to prove it. Sorry to hear about the crash.

The leg that points up is there for a variety of purposes. It helps with orientation (since we have 3 axis gimbal spinning around with the bottom legs). It makes a nice handle when carrying it around. And when I'm flying under something, it's an extra bit of safety.

I finally got to see one of those PS1 gimbals in person - awesome build quality! Where do you plan to put the ESCs? We put ours on top of the hub over each arm. You can see it in this blog posting:http://www.yonderbluefilms.com/blog/2012/5/10/testing-settings.html It's a bit messy looking...

Gentwire - Focus setup with GH2 Help.

That's the wrong gentwire cable. They must've sent you the wrong one (that's for a different camera). The tip on mine has the same connector as your wired remote shutter.
