Now that the shooting season is finished here in Connecticut we made a 2013 highlight reel. I think it turned out ok, but these highlight reels always seem a bit odd to me because there's nothing to really tie them together or tell a story. Suggestions are welcome. And as always - frank...

    Another drone-crashes-into-crowd video

I think that made the rounds a month or two ago. I thought it was Barcelona, right? Flying over dense crowds.

Beautiful work on the foggy filming guys. Question: I believe the wkm manual says not to fly in fog. Has anybody ever experienced problems in fog? I've always wanted to fly fog, but dji scared me away.

    Alternative to Tiger MN4014-11?

T motor props are great. I understand they are more efficient and provide better thrust.

Thanks Chuck! I completely agree about aerials not being a complete solution. Unfortunately we lack the ground video chops and the time to put together a complete production.

    Lets talk insurance

The website says they won't offer insurance for RC model aircraft. Did they offer you insurance?

    Hoverfly Something Big?

Not sure why you keep blasting DJI. I understand they've rolled out a lot of things before they were ready, but I've stuck with things they've made that have been proven to work - namely WKM 5.16, and it has been perfect for me for well over a year and hundreds of flights. I know about the...

A short night flight on campus

Nice work. FPV is on my to-do list. My hope is to do regular filming with Pirate Eye goggles and be able to switch seamlessly between LOS and FPV.

Behind the scenes of an aerial water shoot..

Beresford is great to work with, and stands by his products. We've been using his gimbal for our GH3 for a couple months now and it's fantastic.

Poll for Professional cam op center

Seems like a good idea. As for being close to the pilot, I think it's essential to have a headphone duplex comms system so that distance isn't an issue.

    2nd radio/receiver for camera & gimbal advice

We use a Devo 10 - cheap, reliable, and lots of channels. This is one of the few areas I think it's ok to go lower cost. 2.4 will be ok.

    Mantis hybrid Octo just completed

Trade the Caddie away? You guys are a hoot. Haven't flown much in the last week, but finally got up today and it looks like we lost about a minute off our old flight time. We had 12 minutes safely with the "flat" octo, and it looks like we are going to have around 11 for the x8. But man...

My Octo Doesn’t Lift Enough or Fly Long Enough – What Can I Do?

10 pound camera/gimbal for 20 minutes? I'm pretty sure nobody in the world has accomplished this. You might squeeze out 10-12. T-motor motors are excellent and have a proven track record.
