    River Racing (new highlight film)

Thanks! Will Wheeler, my camera op, cut this one together. We were both editors for cable shows before we got into this.

Sounds awesome, Denny. Are you affiliated with this build? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef21fKriEVE&feature=plcp

    River Racing (new highlight film)

I always keep an eye on the copter. It never leaves my sight. Will Wheeler, my camera op, watches an LCD monitor. He often has people watching over his shoulder, as do I. Getting in synch took a fair amount of practice. We talk before a shot, then talk a lot during a flight, then debrief...

Hoverfly New Hoverfly PRO Firmware v4.6

I'm all for improving AH as much as possible, but I'd like to retain the ability to turn it off if I want. Sorry to disagree with you, Yuri (that's rare).

Some awesome shots in there. Great track and edit too.

    River Racing (new highlight film)

Yes, as a 2 person crew, once you get in synch you can do some fun shots.

    River Racing (new highlight film)

When you plug an HDMI cable into a GH2 that is set to 720 60p, it reverts to interlaced. It's an annoying bug, otherwise a great camera. I'd have to ask my camera op for more details.

    River Racing (new highlight film)

It's a Cinestar 8, 3 axis gimbal, and Hoverfly Pro. We shot this with a mix of Panasonic GH2 and Canon 60D (slow-mo footage). Glad you enjoyed the video.

    River Racing (new highlight film)

Here's our latest highlight film. Most of the footage was filmed at a kayak race in North Carolina on the Green River.

Just tried a collective pitch heli...

Thanks for all the great advice guys (keep it coming). My current plan is to practice with this little demon possessed Blade Nano for a bit and invest in a simulator, either Phoenix or Real Flight. Then once I'm fairly proficient I'll invest in something in the 450 to 600 class range. Maybe a...

    Aeronavics / Droidworx O-rings on XM6?

I think Bart is using a Hoverfly Pro with his XY8 and is happy with it - ask him about the details. I'll have to weigh my XM-6 when I find my scale. I don't thing the boom-fold knees are available yet. Looking at mine (halfway assembled), 13 inch props look to be the max.

Just tried a collective pitch heli...

So I picked up a Blade Nano CP X (RTF) with the DX4e. I've been wanting to try a collective pitch heli for a long time. I got it to hover, but wow, this thing feels like it has a mind of its own and I'm just fighting it. I'm sure it's just a matter of logging the hours of practice, like...

    RED Killer? Sony F5 - F55

The new Sony cameras will likely be very nice, but I doubt they will be Red Killers. They'll likely be fairly competitive, but those guys at Red always have something new up their sleeve. They are a moving target and have seriously pushed the camera market forward. I look forward to making...

Nice flame effect paint job. Oh wait... ouch. (Dead serious - I saw the thumbnail on my netbook and thought it was a nice paint job 'til I saw it full screen.)
