Building first drone and new to this

Looks like you are getting that thing put together just fine Hoki. YouTube is your friend. I've found tons of videos to cover just about everything I'm using in my build. A note on your comment about breathing smoke when soldering...don't do that! ;) Use a fan to keep your work area ventilated...

    Happy New Year from Orlando!

Hi Tom and welcome to the forums! I'm in SWFL (Cape Coral), so not too far away. Sounds like you are well into flying MRs. I get the feeling it won't be long before I jump into FPV myself...but still need to get my first drone off the ground. Hope to be flying my first scratch built on this...

    Earning my wings

Hi Ralph and welcome to the forums. I think it's awesome that you are doing something with your grandson like that. I know my kids are always glued to the computer, but once they hear the rotors spinning they want to give it a try. Have fun with it!

    SBUS to JST SH cable

Anyone know where I can reliably get a JST SH 1mm pitch cable for the Main Port on the CC3D FC? When I bought my receiver (X4R) I didn't realize I would need this cable to make it work with my FC. If a cable exists that has both ends that would be great, if not I have the SBUS cable that came...

3D Printed Drone for indoor temperature Monitoring - Advice Please

Hi Tak-chi Ho. It is an interesting challenge. However, it seems like it would be quite difficult to have a drone autonomously map a 3D space. My first thought was that if a vacuum cleaner robot can map, why not a drone. Then I realized that to map you would have to be able to measure distance...

    Complete NUBE here..

Welcome to the forum Nate! Like Hoki said...small movements and you will be a pro flier in no time! Good luck with the battery mod. If you pull it off you will have to post some pics.

    GotHeliRC.com Good customer service

I just wanted to share a recent experience I had with my first purchase from GotHeliRC.com. After doing research on the radio I wanted to purchase for my first build I decided to go with the FrSky Teranis. This isn't a radio that is readily available on Amazon and so I started poking around. I...

    First Build - 250 Racer

I've begun work on my first build. I have another thread for asking questions, so I thought I would start a build thread for documenting the process. I also find that being able to share and communicate new knowledge helps me with learning it. I'm also open to feedback as this build progresses...

    Noob Questions

Thanks for the response John. I still have a long way to go to get everything figured out and will definitely take it one step at a time.

    Noob Questions

I've picked a basic 250 racer (maybe FPV at some point) for my first scratch build and started to order some parts (frame kit, motors/escs, FC, battery) so that I can start turning screws to feed my excited interest. However, I couldn't make myself rush on a few things and thought I'd start a...

Group Build 2016, Let's get it on!

Bartman, you should pin this thread. I had missed it because of not catching up on more than a page of posts. Glad it surfaced. I've started getting parts for a 250, but may join this build once I get through some basics and better understand the costs.

    Hello from Florida

I've been lurking for a couple weeks and finally registered and started things moving with my quad build. I've been into RC for a long time, but active on and off. I've done electric cars, gas cars, electric boats, gas planes, electric planes. I also dabble in electronics (arduino, raspberry pi...

    Who here is from FL?

Thanks for being a responsive admin Bart. Let's see if there are any replies. This section isn't very active in general, so no need to rush on adding a sub-level yet.

    Who here is from FL?

Just found this forum recently and getting my head wrapped around building a quad. Picked up a small one from Radioshack to get familiar with the platform. I'm in Cape Coral. Did anyone ever startup a local SWFL group?
