    An Observation

I just visualise the right stick as a pole in the middle of my multi, as essentially that's how it responds. I came from flying RC aircraft, its taken many many flights to ge comfortable with multi, but now I find that I can swap between the two modes of flying no problem, just takes time for...

Folding Vtail Quad - new build

@stacky - good idea @Denny -yea have toyed with that idea, have two motors that are good for 3kg thrust each @Bart & Kilby - thanks :) Have a new design that I think will shake things up - using the multi as the camera stabiliser......

haha, those legs stay in an office all day, didn't realise how white they were !

Folding Vtail Quad - new build

thanks Denny I see you noticed the big empty area up front - go pro is going there, unobstructed view, no props in shot :-) At 1:12 it shows what I love about how these fly, i can't get a quad to turn like that The mix is one I did for CC for vtails/y4 but for each frame I normally tweak the...

    dual battery cell count?

Exactly as plingboot and iceman says, parallel or series determines the cell count. But what keeps you flying is total energy, and that remains unchanged. You need to match your battery voltage to the rest of your components, 8s is very rare in a multi as you would need a very low kv ( rpm)...

    dual battery cell count?

First work out what cell count matches your setup Generally the batteries have the same cell count and are wired in parallel Example, t wo 4s 5000 mah lipo's , would be run in parallel, giving you effectively 4s 10,000 mah .

Folding Vtail Quad - new build

Heres my latest build, based on my favorite RCtimer motors (2630/14 750 kv) spinning 10 by 3.8 apc props, turdy plush 25 amp esc's, seperate SBEC, 4S 3000 lipo, 1200 grams dry (no lipo) and 8:30 safe flying time. The frame arms are 12.7mm box section aluminium tube, centre plates and motor...

    10kg Heavy lifter

I'm coming around to the same idea, my only multi at this stage is a 1.3 kg quad, and I can fly that anywhere without concern. With a 5kg octo, every flight had a pucker factor, and always aware of what could happen when that 5 kg decides to come down unplanne The new go-pro2 looks good, and...

    Tracking & Orientation

I always put the red led's at the rear, it matches with tail lights on a car :) My eye sight is not the best at a distance either, thats why I started doing vtail multirotors, so i have a point of reference

Whats the best method of balancing cog on a multirotor?

on mine , i just check front to rear balance before takeoff and adjust battery position as required, by lifting it off the ground using my two index fingers on each side of the centre plate and see if she tilts forwards or backwards a properly set up FC (as in Dave's case) will compensate...

    Tau Labs Problem wit drifting

What's your attitude kp setting, default is 0.03, but that tends to cause drift, set to 0.05, its in the menu on the right under attitude stabilisation settings.

    10kg Heavy lifter

131 watts per kg to hover - that's quite efficient, well done. Good luck with the heavy load test

1st Contest For 2012....let's get started

I'm in :) Stacky had a cool idea last year, a still photo, but it must have the multirotor's SHADOW in the shot, to show where the shot came from
