FrSky / Taranis Trainer "Buddy Box"

Hey all, I am working out a plan for a community outreach program for kids/scouts/anyone to introduce folks to UAS and its beneficial applications. I think I will start with neighborhood kids since they are a captive audience. One aspect of this will be getting a 'buddy box' setup in place...

    Hello Hello

yeah - for me flying a racing quad feels like driving a car with a learner's permit on the freeway - right on the edge of disaster pretty much the entire time! Maybe one day I'll get over the hump.

    Hello Hello

me too! I really like the OpenPilot ground station app too. If I can manage to get a nano I will try it on the Blackout, since I don't think I'll ever be quite the pilot it deserves. GPS would make it simpler for me to fly.

    Hello Hello

I have an R&D project to study conservation, forestry, and agricultural applications of UAS's. I am flying a 250 quad (Blackout Mini H, cc3d), DIY wooden tricopter (FliteTest Electrohub, Pixhawk), and a lifter hex (QuadFrame foldable pro SIXcopter, Pixhawk).

APM 3.5 Mini Tricopter no tail servo movement

How is this guy flying now? Any pictures/video? My tri is still my favorite, even with 'professional' reasons to focus on heavy lifters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First quad, first build, need help

that's why this is such a great avocation/research project/field! There is always more to learn, I learn something every day I play around with this stuff! Did just a few minutes ago! How's it going now? when you move the sticks closer to the extremes do they have more of an impact or is it...

    Tricopter with seemingly random yaw

OK - going back to 3.2.1 (the most recent "stable" version of APM Copter) and touching NOTHING ELSE not even re-doing a compass calibration, and it's back to the smooth flier I remember. Tried both Stabilize and Loiter to make sure GPS+compass were happy. So it's got to be a 3.3 issue, I'll...

    Tricopter with seemingly random yaw

Hi guys, Wow, for as much as we learn over time, there is always more to know. So I'm hoping to get some tips. The tricopter I am using for testing had a Pixhawk power module and FrSky voltage sensor hanging off the back on tie wraps, so I decided to clean it all up finally and get those...

    850/1000 size hexacopter

really neat, and I love to see more USA-based design and manufacturing. Especially when it's clear they're not just cloning some other design. Shame the website is difficult to look at, but I know well from personal experience it's difficult to put time toward such things when there is work to...

First quad, first build, need help

Sorry, expo is short for exponential. Think of a set of numbers. A linear set (a straight line) would be 1,2,3,4,5, ... an example of an exponential set would be 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, ... So as you move the stick on your transmitter, it's following some function in the way it affects the movement...

First quad, first build, need help

alright, that is indeed expo. Are you sure you don't have expo set on your transmitter? Otherwise, check your expo on your KK2 before you alter any PID's.

First quad, first build, need help

I'd say just offhand even without tuning you should have a basic response to pitch, roll, and yaw. Had you been tweaking those values before while trying to sort out what was happening? Or are you saying you do have basic response, just not enough to your liking? It it heavily expo'd, where a...

APM 3.5 Mini Tricopter no tail servo movement

don't change too many things at once! Keep it simple and try moving rudder with the motors running first. if you saw the servo center when you armed, then there is a signal there.
