If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

What you're suggesting, Ross, is that the CAA allows the "laissez faire" granted to the RC hobby to be extended into the commercial world. That obviously can't work for a number of reasons, just one of which is that legislation, certification and control is indeed necessary for "UAVs" (as...

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

There's multiple aspects to tackle here. I don't think anyone is disputing that certification is a sound idea. But... EuroUSC's charges are too high, the quality/usefulness of their training is suspect, their craft-specific policy seems to contradict the CAA position, their monopoly position is...

    Freefly Radian Owners' Thread

So how well does the Radian hold the horizon under duress? I was surprised by Tabb's statement that Zenmuse has horizon issues - I can't recall seeing any reports of that but I'm not willing to buy one just to verify it. I understand from reports so far that Radian is performing well in general...

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

Okay - now I understand the situation - absolutely typical! I, too, fully support certification but not this monopoly situation. I'll join in on any lobbying group formed but also intend to seek for myself clarification and justification of this from the CAA.

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

There is a UK organisation representing the interests of UAS manufacturers and operators: http://www.uavs.org/home Once again, when referring to BNUC-S, they only use the word "recognised" - legally distinct from the word "required" :)

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

Yep - like I said: creative interpretation for their own benefit. I'd like to see CAA confirmation of this position. It sounds to me like EuroUSC (a private company, remember) are bull-****ting. Since CAP722 is the official instrument then it's wording is the law, by definition. If EuroUSC are...

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

Interestingly, CAP293 Article 166 states: Note the bit I've highlighted in red - presumably "batteries" counts as fuel in our case.

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

This page on the CAA website does not say that you need any certification in order to obtain permission for "air work". Read in conjunction with the quoted text in my previous post, there is only a requirement to demonstrate "appropriately qualified" - meaning, I'm guessing, that the CAA will...

On the other hand... from the CAA website: "Grey", I'd say!

btw, on the very next page from the one I quoted above: And this is from CAP722 Fifth Edition 10 August 2012 :)

If you can fly one multi rotor can you fly them all ?

andy, I presume you are speaking from experience with EuroUSC - that they are saying you need to retake the exam if you qualified already with, say, a tricopter and now want to use a quad? I'm interested in this whole process since I plan to engage with it myself soon. Reading (make that...

    Aeroxcraft Futaba S3156 frequency

You mean Hz, not MHz ;) - most digital servos run a maximum of 333Hz - a 400Hz signal probably won't hurt it.

DJI-WKM- The Gimbal Servo Saga- The final Results will surprise you.

The video demonstrates classic "jitter", whose cause can be attributed to the mechanical shortcomings, as I explained above. Yet you say the servo behaves this way when sitting alone on the bench being driven by the WKM. In which case, the only way to proceed would be to view the PWM from the...

    Glyder 600 - Passive/semi-passive Gimbal from FoxtechFPV

Yep - a straight copy of the Ecilop idea - as is the ZeroUAV machine. Effectively a flying Steadicam. Tricky to set up properly and ultimately limited in its scalability. Plus it must be a nightmare to transport.

DJI-WKM- The Gimbal Servo Saga- The final Results will surprise you.

Glad you got the gimbal working nicely. The problem is nothing to do with DJI really - all that's coming from there is a PWM signal that's commanding the position of the servo - it may "wander" by a few µs but that's not what's causing the problem. The culprit is the gimbal itself, which will...

New Turnigy Fast Response Multirotor ESC`s

Well, I don't think the Turnigy ESCs are worth discussing any more - if Timecop is right (and it's his subject so I'm sure he is) there is nothing "multi" about these ESCs except the label. Another HK "marketing" exercise. Didn't realise he'd been here - he feeds on sycophancy so he presumably...
