DJI NAZA V2 with Turnigy 9x Transmitter - PROBLEMS & PROBLEMS

Keys and cell phone in pockets can cause issues too.

    well here we go

Not to side track the thread back to the original topic, but.... :) You may have a bad GPS unit. I only use the vario - but it's been pretty accurate. Apparently this is a known issue with the GPS when it's bouncing between satellites. GPS doesn't seem like the best measure of altitude.

    Equipment storage

I was definitely not taking into account t the craft and/or charger etc. I though cantilever boxes were the ones that the trays open up and out when you open the lid???

DJI NAZA V2 with Turnigy 9x Transmitter - PROBLEMS & PROBLEMS

Double check that the output from Tx to Rx is channel 7. Then it's all about adjusting end points.

    Equipment storage

There are some decent fishing tackle boxes that can be had for cheap (comparatively) at Walmart or the like. Many styles to choose from with divided containers and drawers. They make for a good pack for taking to the field.

$125 Tarot ZYX-M Flight Control - Had to try it.

If this thing holds up to scrutiny, I would think it would give the Naza a run for its [half the] money. :)

DJI NAZA V2 with Turnigy 9x Transmitter - PROBLEMS & PROBLEMS

I'm assuming the Rx is showing it's bound? Do the lights on the Naza assistant show correct connection (Blue & green with one blinking)? Have you followed the Turnigy/Naza instructions to get the correct stocks reversed? Just a few more ideas....

DJI NAZA V2 with Turnigy 9x Transmitter - PROBLEMS & PROBLEMS

Have you been able to complete the transmitter calibration in the Naza assistant?

$125 Tarot ZYX-M Flight Control - Had to try it.

I've always thought the same of the Naza vs the superx. Naza seems to fight you - superx always seems to fly naturally and smooth. Looking forward to hearing your impressions about this FC. Could be a cool alternative for freeing up some of the more expensive controllers I have on other craft.

@SleepyC Not to get this too off track here, but since you referenced both controllers, I'm wondering if you could describe the differences between the WKM and the A2.

    Quad does not always arm...

Glad you got it sorted. It's worth checking all your esc solder points and connection. If it happened to one, it could.... Good luck and fly safe!

XAircraft Help determinig cause of crash HELP!!!!!

That blows - especially because it doesn't seem definitive, based on the fact you were in ATTI mode. I had the same impression that ATTI mode would not rely on the GPS for anything - much like what would happen even if selecting GPS, but acquiring no satellites. Maybe you could ask him to clarify?

$125 Tarot ZYX-M Flight Control - Had to try it.

Very curious to see how you make out. While this is clearly a very low price for a full-featured unit, I think I'd pay a bit more, if it helped them to hire someone to write the copy. I literally have NO idea what that description means :) Good find @SleepyC !!!

    Do I need a BEC?

These are two very separate issues. ESCs and motors are powered by the same leads that come directly from the battery - typically by soldering the positive and negative leads (should be something like 14 or 16 gauge wire) directly to a PDB or squid. That PDB or squid receives power directly...

    Do I need a BEC?

No. ESCs, and then the motors (thru the ESCs) are powered by the battery (positive and negative leads on one side esc). The internal BEC on an esc sends power the other way back to the Rx/FC through the servo lead. It is to eliminate the need for a separate battery specifically to power the Rx...

    Do I need a BEC?

Is that right? I know many people do actually run BECs for Pixhawk. Or at least the older APM 2.6. Maybe that's just for redundancy? You might want to do some research on that.

    Do I need a BEC?

The BEC (battery elimination circuit) inside an esc allows the esc to power the Rx and/or FC, so depending on your flight controller, you may or may not need a BEC. If your FC is powered directly from the battery, you should not need a BEC.

    Teaser from DxO, Photography

Pretty neat. I downloaded the trial of their editing software. I think I've used a few plugins before - but didn't know they had this new stuff coming. Thanks for the heads up!

    Quad does not always arm...

Sometimes some ESCs don't play with certain FCs. Particularly the ESCs labeled as "opto." I've never had it happen with a Naza, but that may be what's going on. IIRC, it based on the fact that the FC is not delivering the level of signal to the esc to say "ok, ready to go." Do you have...
