Setting up retractable landing gear when using sbus port

It appears the receiver he is using is not as easy to set up as the x8r. After reading the manual twice in still not sure whether the thing can actually output all 16 channels at once or not. If it can, you need to use 9-16 as the sbus channels and 1-8 as the traditional channel outputs.....I...

I guess that would be one of those circumstances :)

    what battery i am lost

That might work fine. You might check to see if you can get one that has a higher C rating (the linked one is 20C). 30-35C is common, and would probably be better for use on any later builds. I've had very good luck with the Turnigy Nano-Tech batteries from hobby king. They are cheap and seem...

    what battery i am lost

The motors you have are rated at 3S or 4S. The ones you have just won't have the power you require. The battery you choose depends on the power system that comes after it (ESCs, motors, props) and the all-up-weight (AUW) you'll be lifting. Check out the thread @Bartman started about Lipo...

    XAircraft SuperX

It looks like the output from your motors are a bit off. Check to make sure the motor/mounts are level. Also, make sure your props are balanced well to rule that out for vibrations.

How to get a multicopter with a grippper arm?

It gets expensive because it's too easy to add crap to your cart - everything seems cool when you're browsing that site :)

Greetings from a total newb in sunny southern California!

Welcome to Multirotorforums! Sounds like you're off to a typical start. Fly. Crash. Repeat :) But you also seem to have been bitten by the bug. So welcome aboard and feel free to ask any questions you have. Lots of folks here always willing to help.

FrSky D8R-II plus won't power up

I think there should be a 5v power drop from the harness. It's a white servo connector. You can try that and see if you get power.

    iOSD added info

Sorry. That's what I was saying in the first post, but it wasn't very clear. The gooro has its own OSD - which I guess could be helpful in some circumstances to have in the main monitor. But only if you could actually move the iOSD info around to make room. The Eagle Tree products do this...

    iOSD added info

I don't think that you can customize it the way you can an Eagle Tree product. But you can adjust the overall parameters to move in so they don't get too close to the edge of a monitor/view area.

hello from uruguay, I am new in the forum

Welcome to the forum! It looks as if the flight controller only has 4 outputs. So you may need to update to a newer FC. I think your best bet for getting very long flight times is to do some research on low Kv motors with large props, and pump the numbers into ecalc to see what you can come...

FREEFLY Systems Freefly ALTA, RTF collapsible hexacopter

If you called me a fan-boy, simply because I was trying to describe my personal experiences, I might find that insulting. That seems to discount the possibility that the "potential problem" or "some kind of flaw" has not actually been found. Perhaps I just have a different read on it - but I...

FREEFLY Systems Freefly ALTA, RTF collapsible hexacopter

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for. Your questions seem to be leading toward eliciting negative comments about the Alta, but you seem unwilling to accept that the user doesn't have any negative things to say. It seems to me that Steve (and other early adopters) is still in the early...

    Wookong-M issue

@Hexacrafter how much headroom are you typically looking for? @ANX james Favorite ESCs are a little like 'best motor oil.' Bound to create an endless thread with no clear winner :) I'd recommend doing a little research and determine your budget. Then you should be able to figure out a good...

    Wookong-M issue

You definitely want to swap the ESC for the same manufacturer (and firmware). Otherwise you have to swap all 8. Glad you traced the issue.

    Wookong-M issue

@fltundra - are these the ESCs he has? I would say that the ESCs you have need to be matched to the motor amp draw - so if the specs show under 40A (by a safe margin), you should be fine with the size you have. ESCs can be bad. Numerous reasons. Definitely test the ESC the way you did the...

    Wookong-M issue

As far as I know - the beeping is created by the ESC (indicating # of cells, for calibration, or other messages etc). I knew these frames had issues with the ESCs running too hot inside the booms (the TTRobotix clone and Gryphon as well). It seems to me that the ESCs must be the culprit -...

    Wookong-M issue

Which brand of ESCs? It sounds to me like what @fltundra mentioned, that the ESC is hitting a point where a safety shut-down kicks in. Either temp or current. Are your ESCs inside the booms?
