I haven't heard of a rig that has the separate tracker - but it's a really interesting idea. I know that the new 3DR quad has the ability to do this - but I think it only tracks the radio??? Keep us updated of you find the one you mention.

As @Bartman mentioned, there will be the efficiency loss due to the coaxial setup. So if flight time is a major concern, you may be working against that goal with the X8 config. You would have the redundancy though. I like the idea - and I'd be interested to see how it turns out.

APM should work with any radio/receiver. You will only be limited by the number of available channels. It appears that the receiver you have is a 7 channel - and you may find yourself wanting/needing more.

Mission planner is for the APM flight controllers. APM 2.5, APM 2.6 and pixhawk use the mission planner.

You don't need to hook up to Naza. That is for servo based gimbals. If you'd like to control tilt you can use open channels on the receiver directly, and assign radio knob/switch/lever to control it. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what it would be if the CoG and motor leveling is good. 50% is still too much - but 80 hours of fun should help make up for it :) How far does it drift? And does it stop on its own when the drift occurs?

You've got me a little confused. What are you trying to accomplish? What kind of FC?

I think you'd have room for larger FC if you end up going with a frame the size of the TBSDiscovery. Like @Bartman said, If you end up with something smaller like a racer size (250mm) then you'll want to go the tiny FC route. Plenty of options, plenty of fun to be had.

Make sure you get deep into the research for the APM. It offers more features than almost any option out there for the money - but it comes at the cost of a fairly steep learning curve. Sounds like you've got some fun in your future :)
