    U11 12S Multicopter setup.

To power the wkm I am using a small 4S battery. When powering up, there is no problem, I do first power the ESCs and second the WKM, also great for working with the Assistent, since with the WKM-power source only, there is no danger that the props start turning on your desk. Power source should...

What would be your "pro" rig using gopro under 2kg?

You can easily twist a 20x20 cm CF-plate with 1mm with your hands, you cannot twist a 20x20cm piece of those wafers. The wafers have even less weight than 1mm CF-Plates (it is reinforced with 0,3mm CF on top and bottom). So especially for folding frames like showed above you get a lot stiffer...

What would be your "pro" rig using gopro under 2kg?

Yes 1920gr with battery, cam, gimbal and SD-card. ready for takeoff, so still 80gr reserves :D The CF reinforced Aramid wafers are a pretty nice material. The frame of this "small snapper" has 190gr Here the build log (but in german)...

    Suggestions on Heavy Lift build

from my point of view it is a big difference to fly with a DSLR or something like a red. DSLR means 3-5kg payload RED means 8-10kg payload. Payload means everything on the copter, that is not needed for flying. A copter setup for 3kg payload (1,5kg DSLR, 1kg gimbal 500gr other) means (as a...

    Fox news report Drone Invasion

What causes more danger? People with more money than brain buying a car, a gun or a phantom? Guns are legal phantoms are not? The biggest danger for Multirotor hobby are people talking about regulating other people, but this is not limited to Multirotors. best regards Ferdinand

    First aerial porn

I assume that there is no zoom-capability on the cam :D Also if you use an IR-Cam in addition it is easier to find humans (and animals) outside, so you can skip the long cam turns searching for them ;)

Autocar admits to commercial flying while unlicensed

Wide open area ... no crowds of people ... nobody else (than the crew) put in danger (of a copter falling at their heads) no other houses (backyards, ...) in the video no privacy disrespected, just cool stuff and the answer to the pressing question ... There are really a lot of crazy...

    Show us your FPV Multicopter

The Snapper is a bit bigger, if you want to use 11,12,13,14,15" props , then the Snapper, if you want to use 11,12,13" then the Manta. If you want to use DJI-FCs, on the Manta only a Naza finds place within the frame, on the Snapper also a WKM can be used inside the frame. What too choose is...

    StormX8 compact high performance copter

Nice looking copter From my point of view (and since you ask for comments), the size of the copter is nice for transport, but possibly too small, since components (especially the cam) are withing the propeller downwash which possibly will lead to problems (which I am sure you already...

    Motor Failure

... please do not forget in your considerations, that in risk management, there is only the question "When"/"How often", not "If". So of course some regulations will improve the safety and some wont, and here we are talking about probabilities. Vehicles that fly fail, like every other vehicle...

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

If the Fc can handle a Y6 it can fly a X12, if it can handle a X8 it can handle a X16. DJI only supports (also) up to 8 motor only. As far as I know MK, Autoquad, APM? have up to 12 individual Motor (PWM) outputs. best regards Ferdinand

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

Waiting for new propellers, the experiments caused some damage to quite a number of them.

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

New motors or new builds: Dragonrider 10kg payload (means about 10kg copter and 10kg battery for a reasonable flighttime or at least 5kg copter+5kg battery) means about 20-30kg AUW, so 2,5kg - 3,75 kg AUW in case on an X8, so needing 5-7,5kg max thrust per motor. This is possible with 18", but...

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

Yes but you can also use the DJI X8 Mixer to do this (you just mount the motors as in your pictures above and connect the Motors due to arm and rotation in the DJI Mixter (ignore the top and bottom comment)). I also updated the results in my prev. posting. Here the link the the thread...

    Tiger-Motors U8 + 28x9,2 props

I the german forum someone did a test with equal props and adjusting the motor mixer for optimal efficiency / balance between top and bottom. Test were with 15" props (28" results will be different). The best result for efficiency was 90/100 the best balance was at 95/100. The difference in...

    Difference between APM and NAZA???

Go for a visit on the next Multirotormeeting in your vicinity, have a look and talk to people. Also if you want you can count. best regards Ferdinand The last meeting I attended there where ...., and yes there was also one copter with APM (at least one more than Zero or Xaircraft)

Man drone: Can a multicopter carry a person!

Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, ... is just the opposite of open source. Counted props again on the e-volo, and I count 18 (Hex with 3 Motors per boom) Let´s compare next summer ;) best regards Ferdinand (YACCN yet another copter crazy nerd)
