I tethered my drone to a battery on the ground.

I thought I had more wire but maybe it was a good thing I didn't. I like the simple concept and don't think it is necessary to spend a fortune on an already built system.

Best beginner drone for the money (Syma X5c)

For the price it would be hard to beat if you are a beginner. I still play with this drone all the time.

Shot my first 4K. A little late I know.

I just built a computer that can handle the file size. My old computer kept on crashing. Probably the video card.

Check out my drone collection. I really need to get rid of one or two.

Check out all my drones. I really need to sell one. If they were your drones, which one would you let go of? I just can't get myself to do it. I love them all :-)

    6S 10,000mAh Vs. a 6S 12,000mAh. A very non-scientific experiment

Stuck at home with a bad back so I made a video comparing a 6S 10,000mAh Vs. a 6S 12,000mAh. It was a very non-scientific experiment. Wanted to see if the heavier battery with slightly more capacity would last longer than the lighter battery with slightly less capacity. I flew my hexacopter for...

Used duct tape to eliminate gimbal vibration.

I used duct tape to eliminate the vibration on my Walkera gimbal. Will be experimenting a little more with this.

Video: 1st flight after raising the props about 2 inches.

Made a slight improvement in efficiency and now I don't have to worry about the props taking out a wire or hitting the frame.

Fixed the design flaw with my homemade quadcopter.

Had to relocate the props of my scratch built quadcopter a couple of inches due to them coming very close to the frame and wires. One of the props actually skimmed a screw on the frame a couple of times. Not good..

Photos & Video of the Pacifica Pier and a cove with homes right on the coast

I have to say, the Phantoms produce a much better quality video than they do an image.

discovered a design flaw in my scratch built quadcopter

I didn't account for the flex in the 17 inch props. One of them is skimming a screw.

Golden State Warriors new home. Also, what difference P3S P3A video quality

This was shot with 2 quadcopters, a Phantom 3 Standard, and a couple of days later, the Phantom 3 Advanced. When viewing the footage on my computer, it became apparent the footage from the Advanced was of far better quality. It took some editing to bring the Standard's footage up to par.

    Timelapse from 400 feet.

I like the concept but the results have never been that good. I think this will be the last time I try it.

Walkera gimbal with jello on two different quads

I know this is a cheap gimbal (Walkera) but I can't tell if it is the quad or the gimbal. This is the 2nd quad that I got the same jello. Both had balanced props.

Timelapse from 200 feet over the ocean

Shot this with a cheap Phantom standard I just picked up on eBay. It was an impulse buy. Don't need it but it was so cheap I couldn't help myself. This video is about 16 minutes condensed to 20 seconds.

Got a cheap nano for free (1 minute video)

It was entertaining for a short while.

    I finally got it right

I am still kicking myself for not getting it right (flight controller orientation) the first time.

Another crash & burn, but I figured it out.

What pisses me off about this is I knew the flight controller was suppose to be aimed towards the front, but I just spaced and had it at a 90 degree angle. Have a laugh at my expense.

Homemade quadcopter failure. Not even in the sky.

I simply was unable to program the ESC's correctly, a rookie mistake. A day after dismantling the quadcopter, the light bulb in my brain went on and I figured out where I had gone wrong. By that time it was too late. It was very simple. I had a wire in the wrong slot on the receiver when...
